Description My I introduce you to Kv'var, unmasked version, he is my Predator character, the same that killed Boba and Neytiri. I painted him in gray scale cause... cause I wanted to create a more "illustration" feeling. I could have done it in real paper but that could have taken too many hours... even days to finish.

So here he is... unmasked, revealing his true face to us all

Adds to the scary feel to it knowing it is probably the last thing his Prey sees. Lovely job though. I always enjoy seeing peoples different "visions" on a Predators face. Absolutely love his skin patterns. ^^ How the spots on his forehead mesh with his crests. Very nice touch

Sorry to be a "Negative Nancy" but am I the only one who thinks his eyes are a little too close together? Still, beautiful piece. I love his patterns and the level of detail. @.@

well, actually they are not so close together, the skull is not so wide, I believe that regarding to the eyes, this creature is very similar to human (aside of the fact that real actors were under the creature suit), both with binocular sight, so I think is anatomically correct... but if you think his eyes are too close together... I dont know, maybe is matter of perception or even taste.

I think it's a bit of both. Mainly your perspective and my personal tastes are just clashing like bison in rut.

How come? Well, the only other "Pred" I've ever seen with eyes similar to this is Berserker [link] and I hate him.

Why? Well to me, Berserker always seemed exceptionally ugly/freakish, especially in comparison to previous Preds. [link] [link]

So much so that when I think of what a predators version of "Uncanny Valley" [link] would look like, it's him that I picture.

As for the anatomy of the head here... Eh, I don't know. Like Berserker, Kv'var's face differs differently from every other predator we've seen so far:

...And that's the main reason why I don't like the eyes here. It reminds me too much of [shitty movie version] Beserker. Your Kv'var looks like a half-breed between him and Elite from AVP3 [link]

well, I see your point, I didnt like any of the predators from Predators either... none of them (too tribal and dumb).

I tried to do Kv'var's face as close to the classic predator as I could without copying him completely, I also like some part of the predator 2 head design. I dont think my pred looks like a half breed, but well, I like my pred and his eyes... at leats looks waaaaay more normal than that deformed berserker crap and it continues with a regular predator shape and not those ultra deformed predator faces but that my opinion.

I do respect your opinion and I find it very interesting and well presented but Im not going to change his face, I like how it turned out, sorry

Because they stare into my soul
I love those snake-like pupils. And the shading works very well, the eyes are really deep in his head like they should be. Predators don't like bright sunlight, therefore their eyes are put deeply into their holes.
