... in the glass of absinthe.assignment for my digital imaging class. i got a bit frustrated and stopped working on it even though it could've used a TINY bit more tocuhing up (i lie... it could've used a hell of a lot more)... although i might one day go back and work on it again.
note: this is originally a painting by Degas... and what a great painter he was! the only thing i did was add myself in the painting (which is MUCH harder than it sounds!). here is the original...

ah... texture is so evil. and i look weird... and poor. and weird.

wah! how'd you get the texture on yourself?! everytime I tried, it never worked... then everything went ploofy. so I gave up.

well, i only figured it out after 3 good hours working on it! the trick is to clone the texture (really low opacity, whatever you feel is good). of course, you can't SEE the texture if the opacity is so low, SO! i figured out that if i use the sharpen tool it makes the texture pop right out! (don't sharpen the whole pic, just the places that need texture)
and viola!
course, that took me 3 goddamn hours to figure out!! lol, ah well...

That is incredibly cool, and really good! You blend in nicely ^___^ Getting that texture looks like it would be nearly impossible, but you pulled it off!! Very well too. I like how you don't look amused... rather annoyed ^___^

haha! thank you! i actually worked on it a tad bit more... i just have to upload that one, since i'm guessing its my "final" version. but yeah... the texture was such a pain to try and do!! eventually i figured out a little trick, but it was right at the end of all my gruelling work! haha! but i'm glad you like!
and i was looking upwards originally, but i thought it looked weird, so i painted in some eyelids to make it look like i was looking down!

I like how it turned out, especially having you look down. I dunno, it completely changes the mood of the picture, and I very much like it! That was all digital? That is just... amazing.

great stuff, i was looking closely on the intricate textures of the artwork, i am really amazed on how you seamlessly blended ur image with the whole painting, this is superb attention to detail. excellent artwork!!!
