I'm curious and have been meaning to ask: what IS a thoughtform?

A thoughtform is an artificial elemental. It's an astral being you create, and you give it a name, an element, its power source, and a mission. In a broad sense they're kind of like pets - you have to keep track of them and maintain them. It's magic that shouldn't be done lightly. My thoughtform is charged with protecting me, and she's been doing a great job of it since.
