Thank you! Yes I also was very distraught over what happened to Agni, and I'm still frustrated about not knowing who did it yet. I also am not sure where Yana could go with this... but I'll have to trust her. I am however getting some yandere-like vibes from Lord Sirius.

Oh god...sooooo much nope! iv'e currently given up on Kuroshitsuji....i'll come back in a few months when there are a few chps to read in a row. right now I can't even bare to glance at it because of what has been explained in the newest chp....my poor brain turned to mush. this is NOT something that should happen after all that has happened in the manga and anime (of which for now my brain will cataloge as cannon til there is a happy resolution in the manga to this situation) what about you? (so much for trusting the author)

I've heard that the tired evil twin trope is not an overused theme in Japan and that there may be some cultural differences that make this revelation more or less of an interesting choice. For the longest time, a friend of mine was hoping beyond hope that it's actually a demon masquerading as Ciel.

The twin thing isn't a deal-breaker for me, however... I do have some very high expectations in regard to how she's going to handle them. If it becomes lazy twin writing, I would probably have to re-evaluate as to who my favorite mangaka is. Another deal-breaker would be if the twin kills one of my favorite characters (Soma or Snake). And it's looking very likely right now that Soma's either going to have a total revolution of character or die. Probably die.

I'm actually quite curious as to how Tanaka will fit into all this. do you remember back when "the blue star-Sirius" was talking to Bravat through the door and then from the door next to it a voice agreed with him and said something about his "honor as a butler"? I'm wondering if that was Tanaka, and if it was is this going to turn out like Walter from "Hellsing" or if he had been planning something like this as soon as he figured out that OUR Ciel was not HIS Ceil. (as back in the beginning when he went to the hospital and met with Tanaka and Madame Red both called him "Ciel". which also makes me wonder if Madam Red died thinking that our Ceil was his twin the whole time? morbid thoughts....

I also wonder if Sebastian knew about this the entire time because back when they first met and "Ciel" vowed on "his" name and earldom Sebastian pointed out that he was being a bit of a hypocrite ( as just before he told him to never lie to him) It blows my mind thinking that up to now there had been hints everywhere that led up to this! (i wonder how many I missed up till now?)

It could be, although I'd say Lord Polaris' style in which he kills with knives is different from Tanaka's katana bushido-like style. I think if it is him, it's a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type of situation. But I definitely think Madam Red thought the boy she was talking to all that time was Lord Sirius. I believe I remember somewhere it saying that the Ciel we know has Rachel's eyes. Lord Sirius clearly has Vincent's eyes in my opinion... so I think when she went to stab the young master for exposing her as half of Jack the Ripper, she was not expecting to see her sister Rachel in his eyes and that really fucked her up. It's possible that she would have been able to stab the other twin. 

There were quite a few hints that the Japanese audience had that were unfortunately lost in translation. Because of this, the English version is almost contradictory. I think that's part of the problem with Western audiences taking this new direction in the manga pretty badly. Joker even told Baron Kelvin about the captive Phantomhive boys as plural. And the flashbacks with Vincent were also tip-toeing around it while speaking vaguely about sons. These were both translated into English as boy (singular) and son (singular). The Japanese language doesn't differentiate between singular and plural nouns specifically, which probably led to the confusion for Yen Press' English team.

huh... so much can be lost in the translation from japanese to english considering that (if you include diacritics) they have nearly 4x the amount of symbols in their alphabet than the english languages bare 26.

another reason I was wondering how much Tanaka is involved in addition to my last message is because most of the people being helped (as pointed out by the german soul reaper scientist) were older people. with most of them being male! with Tanaka having always had his strange "chibi" illness (of which I thought they were just trying to make a cute older man character) it would make sense if he had an actual illness that perhaps he needed help with? then along comes Bravat and Lord Sirius with another voice speaking of a butlers honor? it's all so suspicious to me. But because of that I also have another few theories

1)  considering there is another "Ceil" perhaps there is also another demon contract involved? something like in season two of the anime (i know it's not canon but the idea struck me as something to think about here) where Claude, the triplets and Hanna appear.
2) (this one connects to the first) Tanaka may not even be Tanaka. the real one could have died (either earlier in the series or just recently. he could have also been loyal to our ciel or been torn between both of them and been killed off because of it. if LS had no problem murdering Agni then would he have hesitated with A tanaka that wouldn't be subservient to only him?) and a demon could have assumed his shape to infiltrate and gather information on "Ciel" and Sebastian while working for LS.

your idea about Madam Red is both intriguing yet scary/sad. having a panic attack at that point seconds before her death is... *shudders* also where have you seen Polaris fighting style? I thought he hadn't been shown yet?

Victorians had all sorts of crazy ideas about how to help old men lol including a surgery in which they insert goat testicles for vitality. I always thought Tanaka's chibi disease was purely Yana struggling to draw elderly characters since she started the manga at about 22 years old. It would be nice if it had more purpose. 

1. I was thinking Lord Sirius probably has a demon contract, yeah. And I think it's Lord Polaris as a demon butler. 

2. I think Tanaka's just Tanaka. But it would be really weird if he does a 180 and picks sides because he was really awesome and protective of Ciel in the last arc in Germany. If he were replaced with a demon, I think Sebastian would know. Not sure if he'd tell Ciel, but he would definitely know. 

I'm pretty convinced that's what happened when she went to stab him. If you realize you've got the wrong twin this whole time, it's no wonder she hesitated and lost sight of her next move.

Lord Polaris hasn't been shown explicitly, but I'm fairly convinced he's the taller hooded figure with knives that killed Agni. He would have to be otherworldly to dispatch of him so easily. The reason I associate Lord Polaris with knives is because we're shown the bedrooms of the "Stars", and Lord Polaris seems to have a room with knives sticking out of a table. I get the impression he's the type to fight with twin daggers/knives. It's possible Tanaka excels at martial weapons other than the katana, but I'm thinking it's someone else specializing in knives.
