I find this endearing in a way. I like to think that Howlite dissapeared in the war for earth, (in a last-ditch attempt to save Tanzie from her own corrupted form), and after thousands of years, with Tanzie thinking Howl was dead for the longest time, Howlite returns to her, in this corrupted form. And stays with Tanzie, to protect her from harm, even in this form.
