Description
This is an experimental piece...I used acrylics on a paper folder, then i badly leminated it
I like the way the colors came out in this one, and i plan to do something similar as soon as i figure out the composition.

I think that thisis one of the most original reproductions of th crucifixtion, the other one is Salvador Dali's.

This really is awesome, I love the colors too and the faint background detail. The figures are pleasing to me, perhaps because of their sleek yet true quality. I hope that made some sense. I like how the orange shapes and figures look like the elements in a lava lamp toward the bottom. Beautiful

dang, can't do much more than agree with freaktrigger. it is so refreshing to see a crucifixion painting from a different perspective and portrayed in a more abstract way, not just the same ol same ol that the eye is used to and now apathetic and blind to. the bright vivid color and random shapes bring something ethereal and abstract to the piece that i have not seen captured quite this way before. awesome job.

Fabulous simplicity. Marvellous colours. It is as if you are trying to capture ideas which are to vast to be captured and therefore have thrown a loose shell around it. Inarticulate yet defined - I think that is the best way. The more open you leave it the more people can find. Brilliant.

Great colours, depth in the composition and art-style!

hmmm... whats the writing that seems to be ghosted over this?
the colours are awesome... its rare to see an image with colour used in such an eyecatching way...
the background, too, is truly eye catching.
the potential meanings behind this are limitless...
a faceless jesus (or other crucified figure), particularly one thats unbound to the cross, but stays regardless, is a veritable fairground for anyone wishing to attach a meaning... pray tell, what WAS on your mind whilst you worked on this?

It is the most *searches for a word for a while and then gives up knowing everyone will understand what i meant anyway* thing for me to recieve a comment like yours on my work. Most of the people think of my work as an eye candy (which is basicly the right approach since this is how it all began, and I will probably never submit an unappealing work) and comment on the technical aspcets of the piece. Your comment, however, gives me another prespective on my work which makes it far more interesting for me.
So... thanks.
And as for what was on my mind when i was painting this?
Well... I'd rather leave that open.

argh!
toy with our brains you do!
lol, i meant it though, the notion of a faceless jesus on a cross, which he is not bound to has billions of meanings...
the willingness of martyrs, the lck of identity once the sacrafice is confirmed, the possibility of jesus' as a symbol, rather than an actual person (ie. never have existed outside of story), the fact that jesus was planted here merely to die, and via that, was without a real human purpose, so many things...
this pictures a real treasure trove...
its even better for me... being an athiest, such an image is a true bit of brain candy, seeing as theres no forbidden ground in what i can theorize, whereas a person with an opinion of jesus which is preset, will be fixed in the way they will think about this picture instead of imagining the dozens of possible meanings...
its kind of interesting though, that i did assume it was jesus... thats a connotation none of us can really escape... i know that it isnt necessarily, and that crucifixion is an easy metaphor for martyrdom, but my mind still jumps to the name jesus, if not the character...

I wasn't toying with your mind!
I took some of the elements I use in my more private works and packed them up nicely...
It does have *some* meaning, just not what you might think....

im sure of it... i wouldnt hope to claim the meaning to such a piece, i can provide interpretations, but its much too open and deep to guess the artsits intentions.
