This has a beautiful sense of mystery and the mystical at first glance, as the light beams seem to merge into a river and the tiny figures move through the murky forest, but the details of the torches and the mother turning to her children add a familiar humanity in the unfamiliar setting. Wonderful work!

basicaly I just start rough painting in greyscale & lay in the colors afterwards.
playing with the colorscene & painting in more details.
the lightbeams were done with an airbrush lowering the opacity & adding a slight blur effect.
