Description '"Anyway- Harry," said the giant, turning his back to the Dursleys, "a very happy birthday to yeh. Got summat fer yeh here- I mighta sat on it a at some point, but it'll taste all right."
From an inside pocket of his black overcoat he pulled a slightlysquashed box. Harry opened it with trembling fingers. Insdie was a large, sicky chocolate cake with 'Happy Birthday Harry' written on it in green icing.
Harry looked up at the giant. He meant to say thank you, but the words got lost on the way to his mouth, and what he said instead was, "Who are you?"'

Very much likes Petunia's expression.

I love how you drew the Dursleys, it's so them. Also I've noticed with all of your HP pics, how Harry's hair is messed up, I LOVE THAT. I hated how neat his hair was in the first two movies. The third movie, it was a little mussed, but nothing how it should have been. His hair is a big thing in the story even if it doesn't look like it. At least to me. I love how you stick to the books.

Thank you very much. I try to be as canon as I can. I agree about the hair. It's a pet peeve of mine that they never manage to get it messed up enough, or if it is mussed it looks forced. Puh.

This is a beautifully detailed piece of art. I love your lines, your shading technique and the texture your pencil gives the picture. All of their eyes are fantastic, their expressions just on target (Vernon with his bushy mustache and Petunia with her gaping mouth). Your attention to details throughout the picture truly completes the scene (links on the door chains, locks, the lightning thru the window, the stripes on pjs & floorboards, the bagginess of Harry's clothes). To be honest, I would not color this - the pencil and your details make the picture in my eye. I think coloring would distract from the "feel" of the picture.

I really love Hagrid - you were able to capture his size and still bring the picture into great proportion (Harry with his feet dangling - he was small then still living in the Cupboard Under The Stairs). Very minor flaws - on the cake it was actually misspelled "Happee" in the movie; fingers need more detail (practice makes perfect, don't give up) & Harry's glasses are not quite as round as they should be & his lightning bolt scar should be over his right eye - none distract from the overall picture! Lastly, I must say Harry is perfect, absolutely Just!Harry - his hair and face are so him!

You captured so much emotion in the eyes and facial expressions of all the characters - it really does bring this picture life! I think you have wonderful talent and I really hope to see more of your work. Thank you for sharing with the fandom. *hugs*

Thank you for the very detailed review. I'm flattered that you noticed the little details I put into the piece. Thank you for doing that. I agree that I tend to not put much detail into hands... They end up looking like my grandmother's arthritic claws when I do, but true, practice does make perfect. And his galsses could be more perfectly round, true.
About the cake and the scar- I didn't mispell the words or put Harry's scar off centre because I based this on the books. In the books his scar is in the centre of his head and the cake was spelled correct.
Thank you again for being such a wonderful critic!!
