Ok, so how hilArious is it that JKR put in Harry/Hermione, but the only circumstance that it could ever happen is when they are evil dopplegangers! LOL!!!
Seriously. I laugh so HARD everytime.
I was upset for Ron, though. Isn't that so sad? Poor ron. You can't see his sword because I figured it would be in his right hand, and every time I attempted to put it in he looked like he had been stabbed through the chest, or something. Not good.
Poor, poor Ron. He has issues, like woah!

Harry and Hermione were definitely meant to be together.
Throughout the books you could see their feelings for each other grow and how compassionate they were about each other. The only reason I think J.K. Rowling put Hermione with Ron instead and Harry with Ginny is probably because she thought at the last moment that Ginny and Ron had no love interest, so she just quickly rushed and changed the relationships. That's what I believe because the Hermione/Ron coupling seemed really, really rushed in the sixth book. Out of no where it suddenly became RHR instead of real love story that should have happened with Harry and Hermione.
Harry and Hermione will always be the true couple to me. HHR!

Ron was jealous when he saw Hermione and Krum together at the ball, it was obvious that he had feelings for Hermione then. Hermione was even upset because Ron didn't ask her to the ball. Harry was all goo eyed for Cho. Harry never once felt jealous when Hermione was dating another guy, Ron did. Then Ron starts dating Lavender 
I never saw any serious romantic feelings between Harry and Hermione (any hints were either used as humor, were lies from The Daily Prophet or an evil illusion from the locket so they don't count.) Yes, Harry and Hermione were very close and they loved each other dearly but it wasn't romantic; that's what made it special, like Harry said, he loved her like a sister (in many ways Hermione was as much a sister to Harry as Ginny is to Ron even though they aren't genetically related so I think he considers a romantic relationship with her as the equivalent of incest and finds it really gross.) Harry comforts, protects and helps Hermione because he's acting like a good friend and brother, not because he's in love with her. Ron on the other hand, can hurt Hermione and seems mean because he has feelings for her and is very jealousy when she's with other guys (even being afraid that Harry will take Hermione away from him and she'll pick Harry instead of him) and finds it all very confusing.
You can ship whatever you want I guess but you can't argue that Ron and Hermione's relationship was sudden, there were hints and they had feelings for each other from at least year 4. Rowling didn't just suddenly decide to stick Ron and Hermione together because Ron wasn't in a relationship, she must've planned on eventually pairing them together at least book 4, possibly from the beginning of the series. If any relationship was sudden, it was Harry and Ginny but even with that, Ginny has a crush on Harry from the beginning of the series.

Well, obviously JKR didn't intentionally make Harry and Hermione attracted to each other, because she said she planned on putting Ron and Hermione together from the beginning for "personal reasons". Looking at it from an author's point of view, what would be the point of writing sparks between them if it's not going to come to fruition? If she had planned on putting them together, she would have done more buildup to that. And hello, as for Ron and Hermione, just because two people "like" each other doesn't mean they're GOOD for each other. (Look at Cho and Harry!) My guess is that JKR was trying to do "opposites attract", but their personalities clash so much that it's just not believable. I'll believe hippogriffs exist before I'll believe two people like Ron and Hermione could POSSIBLY have a healthy romance. Ron is a total jealous rage monster. He absolutely loathed Krum just because of the Yule Ball thing--and speaking of that, it wasn't so much Hermione was upset that Ron didn't ask her, it was more that he didn't realize until later that she was a girl, and then he only asked her because he couldn't find anyone else. What he said was, "Hey, Hermione, you're a girl! So you can go with one of us!" It was inconceivable to him that anyone would actually want to go with her, because she's supposed to be this plain sort of dweeb first, and feminine second. Harry, on the other hand, is not a jealous rage monster. Sure, he was jealous of Cedric when he went with Cho, but he was civil to Cedric. They worked together for the Triwizard Tournament. If Harry was with Hermione, he wouldn't be all possessive and jealous like Ron is, because unlike Ron, he understands that women are not possessions or prizes to be won. Harry never said he loved Hermione like a sister. As a friend, yes, but as a sister, no. If they were like siblings, wouldn't they bicker more? I would know, I've got three.
Speaking of Harry and Ginny...that WAS sudden. True, Ginny did like Harry since the beginning (well, since book 2, technically), but that doesn't mean Harry has to like her BACK. I've had crushes who didn't like me back. There was a guy who liked me but I didn't like him back. Does that mean we have to go out anyway? No. Harry had ZERO feelings for Ginny until the sixth book. To be honest, I think JKR just isn't that good at writing romance.

Well, H/Hr has had a history of not really considering Ron's reaction to them getting together, and I think she perfectly demonstrated just how horrible this ship is for Ron's psyche and how very against it Harry is. It's fine to ship H/HR, but alot of people were unrealistic about it, and this was JKR's way of clearly showing the main problems with it.
