PLEASE DON'T VIEW IF YOU HAVEN'T READ HP6 YET ;_; This contains mild spoilers! AND SPOILERS ARE EVIL! AIEEE! XD (coughs)Posted first in my other journal, Snape after that DE raid in HP6. Text is what Snape said to Dumbledore (according to Hagrid) during their argument in the Forbidden Forest.

Really great job. I think this shows Snape really worn down by all that's being asked of him. He's tired, tired of being judged and hated, and not recognized for the devotion and fine work he's truly done.

Oh, I totally agree....I will give you my theory....
SPOILER WARNING...........
The whole thing is a a RUSE, totally worked out beforehand, and I think both Snape and Draco (him, so far unknowingly) have a role to play in Voldemort's demise, which is why Snape/Dumbledore worked it out beforehand to "save" Draco from having to kill Dumbledore. Honestly, it seemed DD was dying anyway, and Snape did him a mercy by killing him, at his behest. It'll be just like Obi Wan Kenobi, you mark my words: he'll be stronger dead and this isn't the last we'll see of him. Snape is playing the bravest role of his live (why he was so upset at being called a coward) and will now be totally trusted by Voldemort, etc and will be in a perfect position to help Harry, et al in the end.
I have further refined my original theory to include an Unbreakable Vow made between DD and SS years ago - otherwise, why this sudden introduction to this magic we've never heard of before. You'd think that V would require all his Death Eaters to take them, but no....the only reason we know about it is because we'll hear of it again between DD and SS.
I keep trying to work in something where Snape is DD's son or Harry's father or something like that, but I can't force it to fit. I think it's obvious Snape was in love with Harrys' mom Lily, but having Harry be his son is incredibly unlikely. It would be fun, though!
Kind of like finding out Vader was Luke's father!!

Sorry for the really late reply ;_; And yes, this really sounds plausible. Especially since it was pointed out in a previous book (forgot which! XD) that so long as Dumbledore's in Hogwarts, Riddle can't enter or something of the sort. And Dumbee's a permanent fixture now! XD
I do hope something of the sort happened between Dumbee and Snape, although I'm also hoping for there just being a sort of iron-will trust existing between the two of them beyond an Unbreakable Vow (yes, I'm a bit of a romantic :] ).
