His shocked eyes snapped from my arm to my stern face. I flicked out my arm, grasping his wrist as I did, and ground my left foot into the earth behind me.

"Your own size!" I snarled, head ducked as I sent my right foot with a great boom slamming up into his face and knocking him back. Neji's eyes broke from me as he gagged and went shooting away.

From Naruto fanfiction Journey of the Three Failures Chapter Twenty-Six: Toward the New Age Act II, Part Three: Clan Hyuuga.

Another line considered for this part was "Step back, Onii-san," which Hinata would have said in place of the 'pick on someone,' calmly, before kicking Neji away without giving him time to respond. The purpose would have been to show that maybe with a completely level head she would have refrained from breaking dueling protocol with that early kick, but the contradiction between her actions and words might indicate how beneath her calm, she's still a bit wild with concern for Hanabi and anger toward Neji. Still went with the more cliched line in the end, though

Also note how the partial transformation of Hinata's feet wasn't mentioned in text due to relative triviality (and the fact that she arrived in her Advanced Transformation/human disguise wasn't mentioned in the rest of the chapter, though that omission was by mistake -- but might be inferred by the fact that neither Hanabi nor Neji show any reaction or surprise toward her appearance). Anyways, on the previous pages Hinata's feet were shown transformed for the purpose of heightened sprinting, while here she's shifted them back to normal, since human feet are better suited to kicking. Another reason she rarely wears shoes any longer, when she might need to transform on the fly. To clarify, though, even out of her human disguise (in her true appearance) her feet are 'human'/normal as a neutral state, unless she transforms them.

One more note! This page is also contradictory to the later implication in-chapter that Neji actually didn't bleed from this strike (When Naruto notes that Neji's 'drawn first blood,' he means it literally). But the comic isn't going that far anyway, and I thought an appropriately placed shounen-manga-style-kinda-excessive blood splatter would make the kick more dramatic ^^'
