When I start drawing it's not always easy for me to choose the style I'm going to use.I like this cute/simplified/castoonish style.
But I'm also fan of this not so cute/ slightly creepy/ little unsettling/ maybe ugly/ realistic style.
I can like both, right?
I think people prefer cuteness. But when we talk about Undertale and monster characters in general I like both representations
I like the cute versions of characters but I also love to imagine monsters as monsters. Not saying that monsters can't be cute. Sometimes I just like seeing cartoonish characters drawn kind of realistic way.

i feel so alone in my liking of realistic undertale monsters... it gives relationships with them so much more depth! loving a smiley face is easy, but loving an honest-to-god human skeleton... that means something. er... maybe i'm getting too much into it. but i wish people would embrace a more realistic style instead of shunning it just cuz it isn't 'cute'...

And I agree with you! Realistic representation makes the monsters feel
something else, something different than the cute versions of them.
Like you said it's easier to love something cute than something hideous and monstrous.
