Yes, the shade is different layer.
It is over the underpaint in multiply.

Damn interesting process, thanks so much!
May I ask, how do you position the layers on the underpainting + shade ? Is the shade over the underpaint in multiply? Or is the underpainting over the shade?

Wooooowwww!
I got a question.... The underdrawing and the lineart, is that already digital? When yes, how do you draw these lines soooo great? I dont succeed drawing a straigjt like digitally.
How do you shade? Is that a "multiply"-layer?

Thank you for the comment!
To draw a straight line, it is important to draw a lots of pictures with a pen tablet anyway.
The past I couldn't draw a straight line, too
And yes, shade is multiply-layer.

How about try to change the settings of your tablet pen?
If it still doesn't work well, I think you need more practice.

For example, setting of pen pressure sensing...
Please also try to draw to place a paper on top of the pen tablet.
And, how about use drawing software with image stabilizer?

Hey. I've played a bit with it.... The less accurate I set, the more it jitters... I made it a bit harder, but as I shade a lot by pressure thats no way... I'll try the paper on the tablet. Nice idea!
I use Photoshop. Dunno if it has stabilizer... Open Canvas has, but as there is no "free transform", I cannot use it properly.

Oh! I was satisfied to hear you're using Photoshop.
I'm not good at draw a straight line in Photoshop, too.
I know the software that's right for you!
Please try using the "SAI". [link]
It's software that has been developed in Japan, there is also English version.
It also has "stabilizer" and "free transform".
I have been using this for a long time
