so, basically, these were the best TFs I could find :/ Normally I come away with at least one Japanese gem, but the one and only Japanese TF I found was Alternity Ultra Magnus...and...well he's expensive and I already got the mold twice...so...

But--despair soon gave way too:

'Generations' Thunderwing and Skullgrin. Back in the days of G1, both of these characters were Pretenders. These figures are new modern takes on them, and to be honest, they have come out really, really well :3

Thunderwing's design comes directly from his Pretender shell, since that is how the character is most recognised-and looks awesome! He looks like a proper mean Decepticon, and it's believable he could wrangle leadership from Megatron or Galvatron (Or shockwave, since Thunderwing is primarily a G1 marvel fellow) The best thing about this figure though, is even at deluxe size, his jet mode comes with a detachable drone! Cool enough in itself but when this drone is a nod to how the original figure could combine the shell and inner-robot's vehicle modes to form a super jet is just awesome!!

Skullgrin, however, is a clever mix of both his shell and Inner robot. I.e, he has the robots' body and altmode, but the head is from the shell design--again, this figure is awesome! and, in my opinion, better than the original Straxus figure that he shares a mold with! For a re-tool, this is very simply cleverly done and really does the G1 character Justice!!

10/10 to Hasbro and Takara on these 2! some of the best we've gotten in ages
