This is a fan art of Aerith Gainsborough praying at an altar at Forgotten City, right at the moment when she realized Cloud's arrival, while Sephiroth coming next to say hello from above with his sharp and pointy friend.
Her face is based on Natalie Portman inspired by a comment I've read on DA, and her details are mostly based on Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children while some features such her hair, bracelets, and her hand gesture are leaning toward the original game version. Since she dropped a Materia after she passed I decided to include the orb in her hand. The two feathers represents Aerith and Zack, as the black one represents death and Zack, while the white one represents heaven and Aerith respectively. I watched Advent Children again while painting this and honestly find myself like it better than the initial watching (I thought the movie was pretty lame), and did find it a formal farewell to Aerith and Zack for Cloud to finally let go.
