day 30 of the third annual artist training ground event on equestria daily. theme was to draw any or all previous themes.

i... thought about this all day.. what should've been the most fun and liberating day of the whole event became intensely steressful, and made obvious that that, of all things involving art, is what i need to work on the most still...

two years ago, in 2011, i drew this ( hip-indeed.deviantart.com/art/… ) for the same theme as today's, redoing one of my earliest drawings implementing all the many thigns i'd learned throughout the month, and i remember it being very fun, and feeling very proud

then, in 2012, i did this piece ( hip-indeed.deviantart.com/art/… ) which was far, far harder than it looks liek it would've been, and took ALL day, then got less fanfare than anything else i'd ever drawn... but i was still very proud and felt like i did something great, really

today, in 2013, i created this image. simple, clean, and evoking as best as i could muster the feeling of being done with this year's ATG, which somehow felt like the hardest of them all. it's sort of a sequel and reimagining of a couple weeks ago's 'burnt out pony' ( hip-indeed.deviantart.com/art/… )

So, first ATG, I learned the basics, how to use the hardware and software at my disposal. The second, I learned how to work hard and not give up. And the third, I've learned out to relax and ENJOY making art. With these lessons under my belt, I feel it's time to finally start really moving ahead, really growing and learning and really doing with art and cartoons what I've always wanted, obviously far more than simply ponies as well, but never forgetting them, this crazy-great community and wonderful event that's helped me so much. And you can rest assured I'll be participating in these artist training grounds as long as they continue to be held.
