In preparation for Capal-day here's my take on an updated version of the 50th anniversary iconic banner image. Although I fully expect the BBC to release their own version before too long - if and when that happens this will be taken down so grab it while it's hot

Lovely stuff. And although he's a half-human second body lost in an alt universe now, I kinda wish Meta-10 was on here. It counts as a regeneration waisted

Calm yer ass down, son. We all have our interpretations of the situation; no need to get all uppity about it. I didn't diss your view, so don't go getting all defensive about it. The hand regenerated into a NEW BODY, but with the same face. In my mind's eye, that's not a side-effect, that's a regeneration. This is just my interpretation, so PLEASE, stop trying to force yours on me and getting all offended that the way I perceive the Meta-Crisis is not the same as yours, okay? Yeesh.

I would love to see the Valeyard on this, he is a Doctor. If there can be a War Doctor, then there should be the Valeyard. I would imagine his on screen time is more than John Hurts. Besides that, I love your gallery, you post the best covers and wall papers.

The War Doctor is a fully fledged incarnation though. Β Eight regenerated into War who regenerated into Nine.
The Valeyard on the other hand is a hazy might-be/might-not-be possibility of a Doctor - is he a full incarnation, a watcher-like interim, a distillation of all the negative aspects of the Doctor's various personalities, a failed experiment into extending a Time Lord's life cycle, an alternative future version, a construct of the corrupt High Council, some of these, all of these or something completely different? Β And it's very unlikely we'll ever be granted an official explanation...
As a result he hasn't really earned his place in the hallowed line-up in my mind and by his continued absence from the show and it's publicity (bar a single brief mention in Name of the Doctor) I strongly suspect the BBC feels the same.
