I realize I haven't gone and shown off the designs for the Pokemon Trainer AU I've been crafting for DKC since like March like I said I would some weeks ago, but I really haven't been fond of how DK's initial design image came out (one of several who suffer from this unfortunately). I wanted to draw him in a way that was a bit more befitting his role in the story as the current champion of the region, and this was my best effort to rectify that.
(It's something I've only thought of in hindsight, but I really should have added like... area effects to make it clear he's supposed to be covering his face to protect himself from dust. Also a gleam into a bit more serious side of DK as I usually draw him being much more of a goof than I intend.)
I'm in the process of editing the teams of those who were drafted before the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, so I can add them here now as I get them edited, but DK himself may still have to wait a little while until then.
