Description
Something I would want to ask from animators that work(ed) on these 4 series:Here we go. *Ehem* "When did you stop caring about what the fans want?!"
So it's ok to cancel good series like "Green lantern Animated Series" and "Young Justice" so there's room for something as sucky as "Teen Titans GO!" and some new versions of Powerpuff girls? And when fans make a difference by complaining about this, their effort gets attention but in the end it is useless?
Na'ah! Hellz no! I just can't live with this!
Sure, if they insist on making two series that most likely will suck, that's fine. Wasting your money there, pal. But don't destroy a series that actually has a good future.
You know what's a problem with making "Teen Titans GO!" in my opinion?
They destroyed the characters I love. They made Starfire a little princess who is obsessed with her hair and looks. They made Raven secretly a pony fan (Thanks a lot, I HATE PONIES!). Cyborg, Robin and Beast boy are a lot more closer to their original personalities, but even they have a gigantic jump to go from there. Not to mention sides that are just not for them. I would say they are 60/100 to their originals.
I hate it when people do this, you know? They change a personality people are used to. We watched those 5 on screen for almost 3 years. 5 seasons, 65 episodes, 22 minutes an episode! Their characters are deep inside our hearts, we love them. We worship them! And then some lunatic gets the idea to change them!
"Big falling for Teen Titans GO". YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!?
And now there's the new powerpuff girls? Really? You know, first off the problem is that I grew up with the original powerpuff girls. I just can't live with the fact that they will be changed into a whole new desing (Personalities are still a mystery). Sure, the series is probably for some new kids... but what about me!? *Forever kid* If you insist on not letting the loved little superhero sisters die, then just freakin' put the show up again! I don't mind!
Second of all... they are taking the same risk as the "Teen Titans Go!". What's that? They take characters we are used to. And what Teen Titans people did, was that they took the characters from a story mode series, and made it into a "No need to follow every single episode if you don't want to" series. When I found Teen Titans I was hooked. I had to see the episodes! But "Teen Titans GO!" is just boring. It's amusing, don't get me wrong, but it's missing the exitement. It's missing the story. The changes. It doesn't make me want to find more episodes so bad that I will search half the internet to find even a clip of it.
And what I meant by taking characters we are used to? In "Green Lantern animated series" and Young Justice the characters are hardly someone we know.
Sure, in "Young Justice" there's Robin and Kid Flash, but the makers took care of making their personalities at least 85/100 right! Other main characters I didn't even know.
Before "Green Lantern Animated Series" I had seen green lantern stuff here and there, but I had never seen them on screen. We saw them on comic books and some movies, but they hardly had the role of a main character (Except comic books directed to them, but still not animated!)
The shows were GREAT! Green Lantern series had weird animation style, but the humor they put into the show, especially during the second half of the first season, took care of that. IT WAS HILARIOUS! I had tears in my eyes! Young Justice had it ups and downs, but the humor, the story and the animation was amazing!
Both of these shows I worship! I love them! And honestly I rather watch them again than waste even one minute on "Teen Titans GO!" or the new powerpuff girls.
I'm sorry to say this to Warner Bros, Cartoon Network or what other company is in charge of these decisions, but you broke my heart when you took these two series away. And you destroyed my childhood by ruining the two shows I have loved for years.
*Huispe has spoken.

Remember back in the days of Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, Dexter's Lab and Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy, when shows didn't need to make millions of dollars in marketing to be successful and long running? I miss the golden age of Cartoons...

It is... but seriously. Green lantern was so loved! Live-action is totally different from a cartoon. Besides, how do we know how funny the movie was compared to the animated series?

Dunno, but I'm just going to keep blaming Stuart Snyder for these fumbles, mostly because he IS partially responsible for them.

WOW...That was an excellent argument against "TEEN TITANS GO!" I tried watching the first episode and 30 seconds...30 SECONDS into the thing and I was like:

So it's not just me! I was able to watch the first two episodes and after that it was all just gone...

I watched an episode of Teen Titan's Go! I had to completely not think about the original show, but it was amusing. I found it kind of funny, but I also was thinking "This show might last a month before no one is watching it."
I always hate when a show gets cancelled seemingly for no reason. Sometimes I just can't understand what happens to networks that they'll do that. It's freaking annoying and weird. And fans raised money for the show? How many times are people going to yell "Shut up and take my money!" and big business isn't going to do it?

Hear hear! Especially when you consider that both of these wonderful shows ended on cliffhangers that could have kept their glory going for at LEAST another season :C

I think her point was...
They were shows that were already beloved by thousands, to the extent that the fans raised a whole season's worth of funding.
The new things, however, just bastardized already beloved series.

I won't.
But my point is: Why should I stop watching a series I love, so that someone else can watch a series I dislike?

No one is really making you stop. I mean, you can stream it all online an the original PPG is airing on Boomerang now.
And because networks need to pander to a specific demographic. Your nostalgia isn't their first concern.

I'm talking about the cancelled series. The ones that will never have episodes again. Even tho they ended in cliffhangers.
And my nostalgia? There are thousands of fans who don't like this. I'm not the only one, and especially not the first one to write about this. Again, talking about the cancelled series.

Unfortunately shows that don't get good enough ratings or merchandise get pulled.
It sucks hard, but you can't really do anything about the shows that replace them.

Not good enough ratings? Fans were funding them a whole season after it was cancelled. That's how badly the wanted it back!
And Teen "Titans GO!" actually is having a big fall because it is not liked. And this was a series that was a replacement.
I don't judge people for replacing series with another ones. My Little Pony (That replaced the older version) for example is something that fans love, and so it's unfortunately something I will not get rid off and I don't judge it for being around because of that. But Teen Titans Go... it certainly did not have a warm welcome, so why did it have to replace something that many fans love.

Same thing happened with Motorcity but it still got cancelled (I cried).
That seems to happen with a lot of new series there nowadays (and then they end up in daytime television limbo for a while)
I don't think TTG was meant to be a replacement, but a spin off.

But what if a series still has a good results in fans? Why would it still get cancelled? And why would the makes ignore all the hard work of even raising money for a whole new season? Shouldn't that already tell something?

It may be because the wrong demographic was drawn in and lack of merchandise is a HUUUGE determining factor of whether a series continues airing (ie. the reason for the cancellation of Symbiotic Titan, Motorcity, and Megas XLR I'm pretty sure). Some shows don't produce enough profit based off of sales and viewer revenue, and while you think that the fandom may have been large enough to save the series, unfortunately that may not have been true.
The demographic thing can be averted if the series is just that successful on its own/has staying power/brilliant merchandising (ie. shows like My Little Pony)
The creators of the shows aren't in control of what gets aired. Lack of money isn't usually why a series gets pulled (even though it does happen sometimes), it's usually the creators getting screwed by the network.
