Description Something I would want to ask from animators that work(ed) on these 4 series:
Here we go. *Ehem* "When did you stop caring about what the fans want?!"

So it's ok to cancel good series like "Green lantern Animated Series" and "Young Justice" so there's room for something as sucky as "Teen Titans GO!" and some new versions of Powerpuff girls? And when fans make a difference by complaining about this, their effort gets attention but in the end it is useless?

Na'ah! Hellz no! I just can't live with this!

Sure, if they insist on making two series that most likely will suck, that's fine. Wasting your money there, pal. But don't destroy a series that actually has a good future.

You know what's a problem with making "Teen Titans GO!" in my opinion?
They destroyed the characters I love. They made Starfire a little princess who is obsessed with her hair and looks. They made Raven secretly a pony fan (Thanks a lot, I HATE PONIES!). Cyborg, Robin and Beast boy are a lot more closer to their original personalities, but even they have a gigantic jump to go from there. Not to mention sides that are just not for them. I would say they are 60/100 to their originals.
I hate it when people do this, you know? They change a personality people are used to. We watched those 5 on screen for almost 3 years. 5 seasons, 65 episodes, 22 minutes an episode! Their characters are deep inside our hearts, we love them. We worship them! And then some lunatic gets the idea to change them!

"Big falling for Teen Titans GO". YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!?

And now there's the new powerpuff girls? Really? You know, first off the problem is that I grew up with the original powerpuff girls. I just can't live with the fact that they will be changed into a whole new desing (Personalities are still a mystery). Sure, the series is probably for some new kids... but what about me!? *Forever kid* If you insist on not letting the loved little superhero sisters die, then just freakin' put the show up again! I don't mind!

Second of all... they are taking the same risk as the "Teen Titans Go!". What's that? They take characters we are used to. And what Teen Titans people did, was that they took the characters from a story mode series, and made it into a "No need to follow every single episode if you don't want to" series. When I found Teen Titans I was hooked. I had to see the episodes! But "Teen Titans GO!" is just boring. It's amusing, don't get me wrong, but it's missing the exitement. It's missing the story. The changes. It doesn't make me want to find more episodes so bad that I will search half the internet to find even a clip of it.
And what I meant by taking characters we are used to? In "Green Lantern animated series" and Young Justice the characters are hardly someone we know.
Sure, in "Young Justice" there's Robin and Kid Flash, but the makers took care of making their personalities at least 85/100 right! Other main characters I didn't even know.
Before "Green Lantern Animated Series" I had seen green lantern stuff here and there, but I had never seen them on screen. We saw them on comic books and some movies, but they hardly had the role of a main character (Except comic books directed to them, but still not animated!)

The shows were GREAT! Green Lantern series had weird animation style, but the humor they put into the show, especially during the second half of the first season, took care of that. IT WAS HILARIOUS! I had tears in my eyes! Young Justice had it ups and downs, but the humor, the story and the animation was amazing!

Both of these shows I worship! I love them! And honestly I rather watch them again than waste even one minute on "Teen Titans GO!" or the new powerpuff girls.

I'm sorry to say this to Warner Bros, Cartoon Network or what other company is in charge of these decisions, but you broke my heart when you took these two series away. And you destroyed my childhood by ruining the two shows I have loved for years.

*Huispe has spoken.

"It doesn't matter how well-written, beautifully animated, or well-thought out your show is. All that matters is that it panders to children, provides them with "comedy," and sell toys well. If it doesn't meet that criteria, then you and your show is just a waste of talent."

I hate DC Superheroes...

They are so realistic characters, because they want you to feel with them. They tried to make normal People and not those perfect men who will always have a happy ending, because most of them ARE normal People. In this way DC is one of the best comic-Publishers there is. But that's only my opinion.

By realistic, i mean the art style.
It's so over detailed that it's ugly.

Overdetailed? I don't know. I think it's awesome and fits perfectly.
But why hate DC Superheroes? What's wrong with them?

It kinda sounded like this to me. If you don't like the drawing style, ok, that's something I can understand a bit, but it's all about the Artist that draws the Comic. I, by my side, don't like the style of "Weapon X" from Marvel. Too many colors. I love the "Batman Noel" Comic. It's almost photorealistic.

I really don't understand what Cartoon Network thinks it's doing...
They're basically just taking off all good shows that have actual plots and/or emotional aspects and replacing them with parodies and cheaply-animated nonsense that's supposed to be "funny."
The problem is that no one can come up with anything original anymore. That's why they're horribly revamping all the good old shows and trying to sell them to a younger audience.
And the actual good NEW shows (like Young Justice) appeal more to teens, and therefore don't sell merchandise and don't make money. So Cartton Network shows them literally twice a week at 10:00 in the morning, has huge gaps in between seasons, and then cancels them after they 'discover' that no one but a select few are watching them. }
But hey, I've heard rumors that a sixth season of the original Teen Titans might be in consideration (check Youtube!) and there's no harm in trying for it. I just hope that if it DOES come back, CN won't ruin it. :/

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HiSS-Graphics In reply to xXForestMist [2013-06-13 21:13:32 +0000 UTC]

Honestly? I think Teen Titans (the original) should stay with only 5 seasons. It ended well. Making a sixth one is a big risk, especially after such long time. 8 years. They might make it a lot more boring. They might make characters out of it. The style might change and it can be possible that the original voice actors aren't available anymore. Also the ending might not be as good as the fifth one's was.

I think they should just focus on the young justice and the green lantern animated series. Because they had cliffhanger endings which honestly are killing me! Also it hasn't been that long since the series ended, so the style's won't change so easily. They should stop trying to remake something we loved 8 years ago and focus on the stuff we love now.

I absolutely agree wih this. Remake of the older series and changing what they stand for really hurts me. Teen Titans (the original series) had really deep stuff that, when I look back, I realize they were the best characters that shaped my life. Like that Cyborg quote to this lil guy with the prosthetic arm! Hell, I wish that they make a TOTALLY ORIGINAL SERIES AND STOP CHANGING THE OLD ONES. D:<

I really wish people would stop blaming Teen Titans Go! for Young Justice and GLTAS's cancellation.

TTG was well into production by the time YJ and GLTAS were eying the cutting block. Those two shows failed for the same exact reason most serious plot-driven shows on Cartoon Network fail: lack of sufficient ratings and merchandise sales. Fandom was not watching the show enough and they weren't buying enough comics and toys and crap. TTG just had the unfortunate timing to premiere soon after the other two vacated.

There's a LOT we can blame on Cartoon Network in regards to YJ and GLTAS's cancellation. The shuffling around of timeslots, the failure to promote and market, the over-reliance on merchandising sales in the first place. None of it has anything to do with TTG. (Which isn't actually that big a financial risk, to be honest. It's got brand-name recognition plus it's Flash-based animation which means it's cheaper and quicker to produce and they don't have to rely so much on outside revenue. It also actually has gotten quite good ratings and a pretty decent following.)

I liked Young Justice. I'm a little sad it's gone and that it left off on the cliffhanger it did. But the fault for its absence lies on Cartoon Network and its business practices alone, not on a completely unrelated pair of shows.

...

Looks like I have to add Young Justice and Green Lantern TAS to the list of shows that have ended too soon, alongside Samurai Jack, Megas XLR, Sonic SAT AM, Firefly, Futurama and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Two more and I'll have enough for a top ten list. Not that I would want to have to do one of those on this subject.

Btw, I haven't seen the New Powerpuff Girls yet, but I'm still willing to give it a chance, despite the sketchy look of the characters, and I kind of like Teen Titans GO, though the biggest problem is that it isn't the anime that people fell in love with. It's a brand new thing that could never be expected to do well because the fans of the old show would automatically hate it, regardless of what they changed. They made it a more standard kids show, and that isn't a bad thing. It just means that they have a new target market and a new way of telling their stories. Some of the humour is pretty good in this and it can grow on you, just as long as you can see it as a separate show from the Anime.

From what I've also heard, Avengers Assemble (which replaced Earth's Mightiest Heroes) is terrible. I don't know since I can't watch it online or on ITunes due to various issues (possibly because I live in New Zealand?), but I'll still give it a chance as well, despite how much I loved EMH, and how much I'd like to see more.

Just from what I've seen this past year alone, fans of any form of show have become incredibly, paranoid, protective, and aggressive towards even the suggestion of change, or any insult to their favourite show, however I can see why, as all these corporations cancelling shows and changing things around all the time doesn't help. Some changes are good, but these big companies need to be more considerate to the fans and possibly earn some more respect from the fans of their shows, so that the fans will all calm down a bit in due time. But for now, I'll just sit back here and watch as Corporations continue to mess with things in an attempt to strike gold twice with a slightly altered cartoon, and suffer through the inevitable tide of fanboy and fangirl rage that seems to be flowing ever faster in 2013.

(Prediction: 2014 is going to suck for TV, Games and Movies, but by 2015, things will pick up and be awesome again.)

It's such a shame that the Green Lantern cartoon got axed after one season, but I guess it can be blamed on the live-action movie. Retailers were too afraid to carry any more Green Lantern-related merchandise after the flop of the live-action movie, so plans for toys for the cartoon series fell, and Cartoon Network's attitude towards any action show without a toyline is "No toys? The show's not popular, and therefore we need to axe it" (which doesn't stop stupid shows like Johnny Test or The Incredible Crew from being shown). I blame Stuart Snyder, the CEO of Cartoon Network. He's the moron who's been making the hack decisions of Cartoon Network, especially with the attempt to put more live-action shows on Cartoon Network, which is still stupid.
