What do you use to get that light reflecting off the skin effect?

If you mean the highlights on the skin, they're just white or near-white colour painted or airbrushed on top of the skin colour. Sometimes I add an extra layer with 'Linear Dodge' effect (goes by a different name in other software like Photoshop, I think, can't remember what the name was though) and add the white on that. The layer effect considerably increases the brightness of the white on the layer.
On the other hand, if you mean the glow around some of the highlighted parts, then that's just airbrushed white on top.
Hopefully one of those is what you meant.

As requested by you, I've collected this and only this, but I'm tempted to fave the comparison just because it's so motivating!
That is some wonderful improvements!
And yea on a side note I wouldn't mind taking her up on the offer!

Oh, feel free to fave both if you like.
I merely prefer knowing how many faves an individual work gets, and thought some people may view and fave the comparison first but not this one because they already faved the comparison. It can kinda skew statistics... and I love statistics! xD

Ah okay no worries then, I understand perfectly and since the revamp has an indirect link to the comparison anyway, I'll refrain from adding to the confusion.
Again those are some wonderful improvements, and it's quite a motivator for myself and others too I'm sure. Best wishes to you with your future arts!
