Description
Celia is a shy and ghoulish creature barely recognizable as female. She hides in the crevases and alleys of the place she inhabits, avoiding contact with anyone and everything.After a long (or at least I think it's long) dry spell... I've finally had some inspiration. You know... one of those times when you're working on something and you can't pry yourself from it until you are DONE? Working madly, not really paying conscious attention to the total picture... and then when I came to a stopping point... I paused to step back and look at it... It stuck me as disturbing. It's not that I like to make mostly odd art... it's just that's what comes out - and that's what comes out best.
The shpeil:
This started as a photograph of my English class buddy, Amanda. I won't say her last name because she's quite shy. That and she'd kill me.
It would make her happy to know that this final product isn't even recognizable as her - just that I needed something to work from. The mouth is mine... at least one person who follows my work recognized it from two other pictures in my gallery. Haha... I'd better shut up soon... but I really feel that there is something about this piece... something interesting that deems it one of my better works... Comments? Questions? Rants? Suggestions? BLAH!?

I really love this. The mouth opens as perhaps an entrance into which you can see her soul, though the tunnel is lined by almost rotting flesh. The depth of her eyes show no compassion and a seeming contempt for the world. Her mouth opens to scream, but no scream comes out...
This is probably the total opposite of what you intended to be read from it -so for that i'm sorry... But it's just my interpretation of a fantastic piece in a fabulous series of your works of this style.

She doesn't neccesarily hate anyone or anything... she's more of a base creature driven by instinct and hunger. The more sentient of the group have dubbed her "Celia" as they see it a fitting irony that they have names simply indicitive of who they are, rather than a sophisticated and/or traditional name. Give the animals all the pretty names...

I got to thinking my good friends ex girl friend from highschool she had the same name and she was just killed a few months back and it was a grusome death. THis just reminded me of her..

I started with the watcher. His name fits him well, since he's got these enormous black eyes. I'm not sure why the machinist has the same eyes, but they're a bit smaller so i guess that's ok. And it fits him to have no mouth since machines don't talk. But Celia is definitly the best piece until now. She looks like one of those pale, porselain dolls with no eyes and no jaw. It's a pity that she hides away, she's such a beauty. I'm looking forward to the following characters in this series.

About the machinist's eyes - most of these characters will have the glossy blacked-out eyes - but I tried to make the observer's much larger to fit his "part." Thanks again! ^_^
