Description
Three photos made in a weird forest. On a top of a little hill these and more beeches grow and look... well, crazy.Related content

Love it. They look like three gnarled, surly old men. Do these beeches produce nuts? My family bought a piece of land in Nova Scotia that has some beech trees near it and I'm wondering if they will be useful as a food source.

Hrm, this was intended as a comment on 'Weird Beeches'. Since I'm here, I love your gallery very much. I'm never as happy as when I'm wandering through a forest, and clearly you feel similarly.

Uhm, it is a comment on "weird beeches" At least I can see it below the picture^^
Yes, this beeches produces nuts, in the late middle age this hill was used as a grazing land for pigs, the savages cut the trees at a certain height so they grew more branches than usual, thats why these beeches look unusual weird
To your second comment: Well, it's definitly a different happiness, a more fulfilling, I'd say. Great to hear of ... companions!

Hmm, weird.
Have you tasted any of the nuts? They are supposed to make an amazing oil...
And indeed, it's always a pleasure to meet people who understand the attraction of a forest.

Nope, only tasted one nut, can't say anything about it. I heard about the oil and wanted to test that somewhen

Yeah, the first nations would collect the oil, I think by mashing the nuts and then simmering them in water. The oil would collect on top and could be skimmed off. It's supposed to be absolutely delicious.
