Excessive moon highlighting ftw!!!

Well, that little guy is a bit of a concept for my character Rilkie. He's a detective with spooky powers. O>O I debated a lot who I should put there. I was initially thinking like, a little kid at the top of that hill, but I ended up going with what you see. This is in oil pastels. Yeech. They're very . . . oily. I decided to do some experimentation with them. I blended some of this piece really brutally and got some very smooth color combinations, and in other parts I rubbed all the layers away with a paper towel until all I had left was a very faded remnant of the first layer. I'm fairly alright with it, I think. Turned out about like my rough sketch. Mmmm . . . the clouds have that kinda surreal, goldy backlighting thing going on because in one of my thumbnail sketches I had a city beyond the hills reflecting their light on the clouds. I thought the clouds looked cooler like that, but the city didn't really fit with the piece so I cut it out.
