Description
For once my piece fit into the exactly deviant categories and not as another vector "misc. art".This one was produced for TAILS MAGAZINE, a non-profit publication that's published 4 times a year with articles on adoption, pet owners and their pets, and various other subjects which promote pet ownership or proper treatment of animals. They have distribution all over the US but mainly in the mid-west and now pushing for the east coast. You might have seen a few issues of their free magazine in one of your local pet stores, coffee shops, etc. Each city they circulate in has a different title so I know it as INDY TAILS. Other titles are Chicagoland Tails, Michigan Tails, Ohio Valley Tails, etc. You can find their website here: [link]
I found out about them when my wife and I were going through a PETSMART and I saw a really great cover illustration on one of their "FREE TAKE ONE" racks back in the adoption areas. I contacted them and asked about producing a cover for them and they agreed and asked me to produce their "back to school" issue, due to hit stands in September. They are very easy to work with and always looking for good artists to produce future issues. However, they are non-profit so you won't get paid to do the work. However, if you're passionate about animals, want a nice printed portfolio piece, or just have the free time and want to help a good cause, contact them and see if I'm lying about them being nice people to work with!
* PLEASE FULL-VIEW or you'll miss some of the little detailed humor on some of the smaller animals like the fish and the iguana in the lower left corner.
I left the template on the piece to show where the logo and other info will be going. I also left the grill of the bus white for them to put article titles, etc in that area.
ENJOY!

Esta muy muy bien elaborado, a pesar de lo aparentemente sencillo del dibujo, esta lleno de detalles.

I don't understand much Spanish but I was able to piece together that the artwork was "very very good" and perhaps "elaborate and the apparent attention to detail I took"? I hope I'm close to interpreting the meaning correctly and I appreciate the comments! THANKS!

Great job, Jeremy It is great to see this finished! The fish and lizard are the coolest part. I hope it prints well. How is life at CEG?

Cute. Very fun image.
I like the cat with the yo-yo...it looks like he is missing a little yellow patch on his shirt in order to make him look like Mr. Spock from Star Trek :-p
Anyway, great image. Very eye catching.

Funny you should have noticed that. I actually did do his color scheme based on Mr. Spock. It was more just sheer boredom than anything else and I figured why not make him a trekkie? HA!
