FAQs:
1. What kind of paper does this use?
90lbs/185g
Letter or A4 size. Scale to printable area (don't try to print them at original image size, because they won't match).
2. Where is the previous V3 package?
Superseded by the V3A31 package, which improves on it in every way. Together with the accessories package, it include a large number of previous and updated parts.
3. What do the version numbers mean?
V1 & V2: Old versions, both handmade. The receivers, barrels, and magazines are unique and incompatible with anything else. Some accessories like sights can be interchanged with other versions. Handguards are also cross-compatible, because versions 1 through 3 use barrels with the same thick diameter. However, the design quality of versions 1 and 2 is very poor, so I don't recommend building them.
V3A2: Handmade V3 lower receiver that only accepts V2 (undersized) magazines.
V3: Current version, digitalized and generally better build quality, although with some notable weaknesses, such as the barrel and stock. If a receiver is labeled V3A3, that means it takes V3 magazines. However, there are some slight differences in V3 magazines, so some may fit better than others. V3 magwell has a retaining bar at the back that holds the magazine in place.
V3A416: Hk416 that uses V3 receiver measurements and magazine system. As the two-tone build shows, the receivers are cross-compatible. The main difference is the way the stock attaches (rear ring, buffer tube, and stock) and the way the barrel attaches (it goes into the upper receiver). The upper receiver also fits together better, but, being an Hk416 upper, it is taller only matches the Hk416 handguard. Overall, this is a much stronger model, but retains the unrealistic V3 magazine system.
V3A31: Same magwell and receiver dimensions, but improved buffer tube and barrel, and more realistic minor details. In short, it's an application of the lessons learned from the V3A416 model back to the standard M4 carbine configuration.
V4: Hypothetical next version, with realistic proportions and mag release. Although some of the current parts can be considered "V4" parts, I have barely started actually making a V4 receiver. The stock and barrel will attach similarly to the V3A416. There is no estimated release date.

For now, I have a Glock planned for May 2019, but in case you get tired of waiting, here are some Glock models that I found. As for light/laser attachments, I don't have any plans for them right now, but considering how the schedule changes, who knows? I might be suddenly overtaken by a maddening desire to design accessories, and if that ever happens, that's when you'll get them.

Will there be a full, individual, HK416 model in future? Or separate parts only?
And have you ever thought about making tank paper models?
π: 0 β©: 1
Hoborginc In reply to DimaSomov [2015-01-10 00:40:31 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I'll release it all together as one package when it's done. The tracker on this journal tracks the progress of each part. When they're done, there'll be enough to put together into a 100% complete kit.
I've thought about tank models, but haven't attempted to design any.

Ok, I'll be waiting, thank you for the feedback! I just need time to complete T-54 paper model (that's why I ask you about tank models, btw ) Though, in the internet there is not still good big-size paper model of T-90 tank
Maybe you can think about it in the very distant future... if you want

On the next iteration of the AR types, I'll put more details into the lower.
This Hk416 model, however, is not part of that generation. It's still a V3, so the lower will remain as it currently is.

"the New AR1," that could mean several things... let's see...
Of the Hk416? Sure, the construction images are here.
Of the AR V3 ? Well, I've already built it, and I hadn't started making these construction photos at that time, so you'll have to use the photos that are in the folders and do a little thinking about how it fits together. The names of the parts describe their position to a certain extent.
Of the AR V4 ? I'm going to redo the entire lower, so there's nothing to build or photograph right now.

Here's an explanation of the basic principles. Although he only mentions gluing briefly at the end, the principle of the tabs should be pretty easy to understand. The tabs are there to serve as glue-holding surfaces. Whenever two separate faces need to form a corner, one will have a tab on it, and the other will attach on top of this tab, concealing it inside the model.
Also here's a tutorial on cylinders. You'll see a lot of shapes like this, as well as a lot of non-cylindrical shapes that use the same principle, of multiple narrow faces with tabs, forming the edge of a complex shape, and a set of large flat faces to form the top and bottom.

Those are areas where something else will be glued to. Usually they're only there when the precise position of where to put something needs to be clarified.

where should the thin front and thick front barrel section go?
what i understand is barrel end-->main barrel-->sight post barrel-->flash hider

Look at the color-coded diagram on the side of the page.
Rearmost -> Main -> Sight Post -> Thin Front -> Thick Front -> Threaded Barrel End
The flash hider goes over the threaded barrel end.

Unfortunately, there are too many pages to post them individually.
However, if you describe a specific build (including colors), I can upload a smaller package containing only the relevant files, or email it to you.

The printer should do it automatically by itself. If the image fits on the page, you're doing it right.
If the image extends beyond the edges, it's wrong and you'll need to look at the available options.

Can you show me where should the top box walls from the upper go? I have no idea where it should be
π: 0 β©: 1
Hoborginc In reply to ilovesnsd1314 [2014-10-18 17:41:51 +0000 UTC]
They go inside. Note how they have small a curved cutout one one end? That matches up with the curved cutout at the back of the main body shell.
The purpose of the top box walls is to narrow down the interior and provide a straight path for the charging handle to slide in.
Here's a photo of where they go on the 416 upper (as "inside walls). There are a couple new components on this one, so it's not 100% the same, but the inside walls are in the same place as the V3's top box walls.

Hi, just a little question
I want to build a removeable carry handle, which one should I use? The A1 carry handle include in the upper or the hand drawn A3 carry handle?
π: 0 β©: 1
Hoborginc In reply to ilovesnsd1314 [2014-09-13 19:30:28 +0000 UTC]
Neither of them are really removable, because you'll have to glue them on. (The A3 doesn't clamp onto the rails, because its bottom is flat). Therefore, the difference is just visual and stylistic.
The A1 carry handle will be faster to make, because you can skip the fourth page of the upper (the rail base and segments) completely. Furthermore, it's probably neater because the patterns are digitized. Lastly, it would look better because it's one color, compared to the A3, which has a part that's too light.

ilovesnsd1314 In reply to Hoborginc [2014-09-14 03:12:12 +0000 UTC]
so I can not build a rail on the upper and then put a carry handle on it ?
And another question, I just find out that in the re-release version, the white lower doesn't have "Auto,Semi and Safe" on it, is that a mistake or it means something?
π: 0 β©: 2
Hoborginc In reply to ilovesnsd1314 [2014-09-15 11:51:36 +0000 UTC]
I was recently building an A3 carry handle to investigate its flaws before digitizing it, so here are some instruction photos for it.
It's a bit wider than would seem natural, because I had made it before refining the shape of the rail.

Hoborginc In reply to ilovesnsd1314 [2014-09-14 14:04:24 +0000 UTC]
The A3 carry handle goes on top of the rail, and the rail should be visible under it on one side. However, you cannot take it off because it has to be glued on.
I wasn't paying attention to the text on the lower, expecting the white version to be painted over, but here's a page with the text visible.

Hey just having a few questions!
Wich gun would you prefer for me to build as a newbee? Because this looks a bit to...difficult for me. ( A rifle model would be great already build a few things and build a lot of paper models, no papercraft, so i have bit experience!^^)
Wich glue and wich paper ( i have g/m2 120 ) would you prefer?
Thank you very much for an answer! And really nice models!
