It's the same question why do people draw super muscular men? Why do people draw people who can fly? Why do people draw animals? Why do people draw sparkling vampires? Each person enjoys something fantasical and ridiculous in some form or fashion. Each person draws something that they enjoy and have fun with whether some people agree with it or not. It's ok not to like everything a person draws. Each person has their own likes and dislikes. Everyone is entitled to draw what they like.
Why i draw "fat" people....
i like to exaggerate the human proportion, because it can be expressive and more interesting to draw/look at as opposed to the normal proportion. It's also harder to exaggerate the normal proportion so it has a challenge factor to it. I find this creates interesting scenarios which can be humorous and ridiculous and adds a new flavor to something that can be mundane.

to an extent yes. to an extent enjoyment. weirdness is very subjective as with art and style. What one person may like another will dislike. I hope you stated that comment as a curiosity question as opposed to being derrogatory.
