Description Two beautiful butterfly PMX 3D models from the Sintel DVDs, and a VMD butterfly wings flapping animation, models and animation converted by me, using mmd_tools (powroupi fork). Sintel was a ground-breaking Blender open movie and the contents of the Sintel DVD are licensed as free (creative commons). The mmd_tools Blender add-on (powroupi fork) has a new "Convert Model" button. When converting a model to .pmx, select the armature object of the model which you are trying to convert and then click on the "Convert Model" button. Then you can export it from Blender, the same as you would any other MMD model. mmd_tools conversion of materials is still a little rough around the edges, though, and I needed to do some correction (simple edits) of the exported model in PMD editor or PMX editor.

MMD (MikuMikuDance) has an issue with casting shadows, which I needed to fix when converting these 2 models. In MMD the casting of a shadow by a material depends on its edge line alpha value being greater than zero. If you run into a problem with a material casting no shadow in MMD, open the model in PMD editor or PMX editor and change the edge line alpha value of the material from 0 to 1. This is an MMD bug. MMM (MikuMikuMoving) does not have this problem.

This bug and other mmd_tools materials conversion bugs are now corrected.
