Henry VIII had six wives, remembered in sequence as follows:
Divorced, Beheaded, Died. Divorced, Beheaded, Survived. (He should have come with a Government Health Warning stamped on his forehead: "Your testosterone is dangerous to those around you".)

In his lusty rampage for wives across most of the royal houses of Europe, he tried to recruit various princesses to his bed, and luckily for most of them, he did not always succeed.

16 year old Christina of Denmark was petitioned as a possible wife in 1538, on the basis of a portrait of her by Hans Holbein. Christina refused, and is famously remembered for saying to the English ambassador: "If I had two heads, then one should be at the King of England's disposal."
