I know nothing about photoshop etc. … but I know your work well:
About how long does it take to make one of these? Average time, I’m sure they all vary due to complexity.
As an example, about how much time did this one take? or your latest split image “Seeing Double”?

They do vary - according to complexity, of course, but also depending on false starts, wrong moves, getting artistically stuck, struggling to get just the right tone or feel or effect. Lots of time wasted looking for stock. Never less than a good 3 hours, sometimes more, usually spread over a few days. Seeing Double actually took a while to compose, because I had to really hunt to find a classical painting that matched perfectly down the middle.
As with "real" collage, where the least time is the actual gluing and glazing, and the most time is the shuffling around of pieces and fragments until you get the composition that clicks. Although at least with photoshop you don't have to wait for all the layers to dry!
