I am just a little flower, hidden under the thick leaves and a bundle of grass blades. From where my roots are seated deep in the earth, all I can see is a piece of the sky when I look up. Maybe the sky has forgotten about me, for I’m just a hidden little flower.

Oh, I envy that big old tree, for it has a fair share of sunlight, and from above it can see the full vastness of the sky. I envy those birds flying so freely, singing and very close to kissing the blue sky. I envy those Honeybees, for their hive rest among the branches of the mighty tree, far from harm, free to buzz about and be sweet, and not one of them have ever found me, none has ever visited me, for I am just a little hidden flower. I envy those Orange fruits, for they are many, and they can talk to each other as they hang on the branches. I feel lonely, for I’m just a hidden little flower, my beauty is known by no one, and I feel really really thirsty.

Then, the clouds suddenly became dark, and the sun veiled itself, as if taking a break. Drop, drop, drop, says the rain as it jumps from the clouds to cleanse the world once again. The birds took a bath, the fruits rejoice, the cat opened his umbrella, and the funny insects collected some to drink, even the frog and the mouse. In this patch of earth where I stand, a single drop reached me…and it’s enough to quench my thirst…I never thought a drop of nourishing water from the sky will find its way to me, after so many of the living that took their share of the rain. The sky hasn't forgotten about me, she knows that I am here, in this patch of earth. And then, the sun sneaks again, taking a peek of the wet ground below, and he shines down towards me. I thanked the sky for the rain, and the sun for its warmth.

I understand now, I’m not isolated, I am not hidden after all, I’m just still too young. One day I will grow and be the most beautiful flower, just you wait.
