Do you like comics or are you interested in creating comics? I've been assembling a crew trying to make something of it at www.facebook.com/AlternativeNi⦠.  That would be cool if you are interested in joining us (currently 3 strong)

Yup, Ive currently got a personal/portfolio short in the works (cover+ 5-ish pages) based on Quake going in my spare time & a Commissioned gray-scale + colored cover erotic 8 page short I'm wrapping up.
I think the only thing I generally don't aim to do is traditional "ink" work, as it's not something that's part of my personal art process (Ive seen gray-scales referred to as Inks before, though my pencils kind of fill that role, might just start calling them gray-scales now that I think about it).
Not looking to get a ton of unpaid work sent my way but I'm flexible and can work with budgets.
And if it's something I need to build my portfolio in a desired direction I'm even more open to it.

epic awesome oozing from every pixel. i mean, seriously, check out the details in the background! love, love, love the expression on his face. it's like he's in the verge of becoming something- a villain or a superhero. this is too cool. excellent work!

Pure comics version I really like your proposal! His tentacles look like rat tails or kinds of earthworms, scary!

Thanks EndDandy. Interesting observations re: tentacles...The octopus is my favorite animal and I know how to draw those tentacles well. But for some reason I was drawn to render them the way that I did.

funny you mentioned the eyes - More than conceptually, I was partly inspired by your Lysanna work...the detail work you did on the eyes. I made the effort to put some detail in this piece as well.

Nice linework and values, the contrast between the fine detailed lines in the tentacles and the big blocks of black in the toilet and such. Good entry!

I purposely looked to compose each element so that it would have a distinct graphic effect...the values, the shading, hatching (which I'm a big fan of btw), and even the placement of each tentacle and how it curves around in space.

thanks...I need to finish work more often
A lot of times my drawings never leave the sketchy-doodley stage or colors never get worked in to a finished state.

I'm glad I finally got to spend more than 30 minutes on a drawing for Odyssey II ^_^ I also stayed away from digital painting and concentrated on pure illustration.
