Edward is perfect. Love the strokes and background green peeking through the layers of colors. Love the bright wistful expression in (yours or) the girl's face.
And who is the woman in the background...could be Bella...or maybe not.

Yes, the girl in the middle is me. The girl behind is just a faceless someone representing sadness and the problems of everyday life. So Twilight is a way of fleeing those problems.

but the reason why I read it all through, and the reason I draw/drew fanart for it is exactly what you've portrayed here. And also because, it shuts my brain down for hours and hours.

It's really good, I don't quite understand why Edward is holding a wooden dummy though, but overall it is a wonderful piece of artwork. I loved how you drew everything to the precise. When I look at this artwork and of the woman staring at Edward I take it what you mean by "That's why", I take it as you saying you like Twilight because of Edward, however I may be wrong, but that's what I'm getting from it in ways.

If you really care about why I draw it that way, here it is:
Wooden dummy: To be honest, Bella is not so much of a round character, she is a typical average girl, so every reader can relate to her some way. So the secret of Twilight is not how it's written, or how deep it is, but the fact that you can find some refuge from your everyday troubles. (The woman is me btw.
