2007:

For Hibbary's Link Design contest.

The Bad: A bombshell of bad news was dropped on me just days before the deadline. And I do mean a bombshell. I stopped eating and sleeping. I couldn't do anything but lay on my friend's sofa for about a week. Needless to say, I didn't finish like I had planned. So I am submitting a cluttered copy of the lineart, because that's all I have right now. I'll color and polish this baby a little later, because I am proud of it.

Moving On: Alright, so this is my rendition of Link. He's embraced his inner wolf, and my how it shows.

His hair is a pale, strawberry blonde with a decent streak of platinum blone in the bangs. His eyes are still blue, but slightly modified; the iris is an icy, pale blue, with a rim of darker blue for contrast. The pupils are semi-slitted and a near-black blue. Expressions are more feral; his eyes have a wildness to them.

The wolf's head emblem is of Link's wolf form. That is located on the back of his jacket and is actually worked into the worn leather. The jacket is mostly black/dark brown with varied lighter patches from wear. The inner edge of the coat has little metal accents of a semi-tarnished bronze. These accents also follow the lapel and the edges of the sleeves.

The belts on his boots and around his torso are likely a lighter brown than his jacket. Buckles are bronze. The leather is highly detailed with depictions of faries and plantlife. General nature scenes involving the wee folk.

Arms are wrapped in cloth. Stops just past the wrist on his right arm; goes further up on his left. On his left arm, he wears a half-gauntlet made of bronze. I'll probably add faint swirls to the metal for detail later, but for now I'm not going to worry about it.

Now, from what I read, Link recieves a stone at the end of the Twilight game that allows him to turn into his wolf form at will. I would have like to know what this stone looks like, but couldn't find that information. So, I improvized. In this design, he wears the stone in a necklace. The stone is about the same color as his eyes and is semi-opaque. The stone is wrapped in metal (either silver or bronze, haven't decided), and hangs from a black leather cord.

His pants are likely to be a mottled green/black, but I may change the green to some sort of violet/purple. Or something.

That's it, for now. Concepts may change when I actually go to color him, but that is my initial plan.
