Yay, another one-time comic!This isn't aimed at anyone, but I'm sure many artists can relate to it XD
Darn background is supposed to be beige, but it blended in with Holly's pink hair. Darn you evil scanner! *shakes her fist!*

I'm still struggling to register in my brain that there are people out there who tell such few details about their characters, like at all. I'm obnoxious in the opposite direction, telling way too much at once. I'll talk your ear off for hours in person if you don't stop me early on, or I'll send you an essay sized bio as a "basic description", or I'll stare at a limited space messaging system text field for half an hour to build up the courage to send like 12 messages at once (sometimes it stops me at 10, hehe) just so I can feel like I have actually said something about it. I love technical details, and I especially love to tell EVERYTHING, and describing story stuff like characters is the extreme, not an exception, of that mannerism. To think that there are people who have not though about how to describe their characters in less space than a five paragraph high school essay, yet alone hold back from telling that much at once as an infodump, is still mind-boggling to me. In fact, the other day, I sent a friendly note to a fellow artist asking them to elaborate on something they recently posted about their character, and they responded something like "I am surprised that you thought through my fursona better than I have!" and I thought "Yeah, I'm surprised too, maybe a lot more than you!" Some people I will never understand.

Geez! I know can get all kinds of people. But then sometimes there's the really dense types.
I guess what would drive me nuts is not hearing back after a week or more. It's happened me a few times. Some artists say they'd rather not have people asking how their commission is coming along. But after not hearing from them for so long, what does one do?

I can relate to that...and it was with requests! o.O" I even had one guy give me a fit that I drew his female furry char with a flat chest *cuz I stink at drawing big chests for some odd reason*
I really love Holly's face in the second-to-last panel.. that made me laugh

Ya, I never got the whole big breasted thing either. My Vikki fox is flat chested, it fits with her mostly feral like looks. I've had a few people make comments on her, saying it was a nice change to see a female who isn't 'sporting balloons on her chest'. 0.o

Oh I SO know what that's like! Except not with commissions. I hate it when some random person asks me a very vague question on my website, or posts a very vague RPG bio, and all that (in your comic) happens to me. DX Darn those n00bish people!

Ha...haha...haaa... xD Awesome, Holly. I'll admit I'm not always comprehensive with my descriptions when I commission people, but when I'm not I tell the artist they're allowed free reign in unexplained features. That way I get a unique image between artists, rather than being one of those folks with a commission folding of the same thing in different styles.

Well, there's a difference between that and what's in the comic...I've had it so that people have told me "i'm a fox", but don't even say if they're anthro, feral, or what. And everytime I try to find out more info so I can learn more about the character and draw them as accurately as I possibly can, we get into "Email Tag", which I could easily do without >.>
Sometimes, whenever I participate in trade communities, I'll list what my character(s) usually wear, or what they look like...but then I'll add in in the theme section "Have fun with her! Draw her with different kinds of clothes or a different species, etc." Just so I can let the artist know they can just run wild and have fun with it

That's what the power of description can do for you... I can give the same, highly detailed description to ten different artists and they'll draw, in their style, the precise same character.
