Description I came across a concept art for Pixar's upcoming movie Brave a while back and I've been meaning to draw a fanart based on it since then. I finally got some spare time yesterday to paint Merida, Pixar's first princess
Needless to say that I just LOVE the fact that she's a redhead - and a Scottish one at that <3

Another film I'm antipiating! Awesome work of Merida! I would've of expected her to be similiar to Tangled in the film, but she must have been designed for a reason. Probably from a illistration in Scotland of a sort. Other than that, I'm looking forward to this film anyway! First TPatF, Tangled and now Brave!

Okay, well this is probably the most stupid question you might hear, but I've been quite confused lately. Is Pixar the same thing as Disney? Because you put Pixar's first princess and I heard that Disney won't be making any more fairy tale princess-y stuff so are they two different things?

Based on my knowledge, Pixar started out as it's own thign that made animated shorts and such... They started out doing commercials and stuff before Toy story, and they decided to be a corporate branch of Disney. So basically, they work for disney productions, but disney and Pixar are not exactly the same ting...

And dopn't feel bad. I used to think every single computer animated movie I saw WAS by pixar. So in my mind, Dreamworks, Imagi, DNA productions didn't exist. The only otehr one I really knew about was Dreamworks at the time... But I thought all they made was shrek XD
