I came across a concept art for Pixar's upcoming movie Brave a while back and I've been meaning to draw a fanart based on it since then. I finally got some spare time yesterday to paint Merida, Pixar's first princess
Needless to say that I just LOVE the fact that she's a redhead - and a Scottish one at that <3

Why'd it take Pixar so long to introduce a female lead? They've been around at least 1995. Female leads then is quite mainstream.
