Yup, good old esplits! I've got a basic setup (elliptic, splits, two cylinders) going into bipolar, which I then put into two splits: one with splits_x, and one with splits_y. I rotated the xform with splits_x by about 10 degrees, which makes the spiral pattern. I used bipolar for the final xform too, as it seemed to enhance the shape. I hope I explained that okay!

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with comments lately. Overall your latest editions rate as great, and this is fabulous! I love organic texture you've created here. This makes me think of seashell art with really rare shells.
