To start with, I think it's super, super cute, and you did a great job. Since you're asking for a critique, I assume that you want friends to point out places where you might be able to improve for next time.

It's hard to write about vision and originality when it's a commission because I have no idea what you were told to draw by the commissioner and what you came up with by yourself. I'll just give you four stars for each (I hate these stars...so silly). In any case, I'll focus on technique and impact (even though I think "impact" is an odd criteria).

For technique, I think I have a couple of suggestions.
1) The most obvious point is the high contrast between the drawing and photograph in the background. If you want the foreground to blend in to the background more effectively, you might consider these options:
-a) One easy way is to add a textures. Adding a texture to the background can make it appear less "photograph"-y, and adding a texture to the entire image (foreground AND background) can make the differences between your drawing style and the photograph more subtle. (If you're new to textures, a quick google search of "How to" "Photoshop textures" should fix that.)
-b) Another idea is to sync shadows and lighting. In this case, you could put some shading on the tree where the characters' shadows would lie. Additionally, you could make the light hitting the characters match that of a forest (spotting lighting coming through spots between leaves in the trees).
2) There are some anatomical errors that will only disappear with practice. (I myself still have no idea how to make my humans look like healthy, non-mutated humans... it's just practice and studying... which I'm bad at lol...) These are a few spots that jumped out at me:
-a) The boy's left hand seems a little tentacle-y. I think it'd be more natural in his position to putt his hand closer for support and separate his thumb from his fingers. (Try leaning back against on your hand and see if your fingers naturally come together or apart... it should be apart lol....)
-b) The girl's right leg confuses me a little. It kind of looks like got flattened against the tree a bit too much. I think it needs more depth. It's also I think a little too tan... I think if the shading was a littler subtler at the knee it would fix this.

So... I guess you get minus one star for (1) and minus one star for (2), leaving 3 stars? Did I mention how much I hate these stars?

Okay this is already really long and I don't have a clue what deviantART wants me to say about "impact." Is it emotional impact?? Since there is no one dying in the picture, it has relatively low emotional impact. LALSHGALKSJDFLDKSJ why does that matter??? Ummm they look really cute together, they're laughing, they look pretty rabu-rabu. I think that brings you up to three stars. I think the only way to bring rabu-rabu feeling up to 5-stars emotional impact involves mature content filters >...<
