I don't put foam on the back of my heads as it tends to trap in more heat, but some toony makers do to make the head appear bigger/rounder. I use elastic straps, and end the foam in front of the ears All my WIP pics can be seen here >>> www.flickr.com/photos/kurokiya… Hope that helps~

You're welcome I don't have any tutorials at the moment, but there are plenty posted here and on youtube that are good or decent (just as long as it doesn't include cardboard, a bunch of plastic mesh, or rubber bands). Yeah I live in southern CA, not as hot as Florida per say, but still way too stifling for a heavy fursuit x__x

X3 so, could you give a brief description of how you start the foaming? if you get the chance, could you do a basic photo collage of the steps? 

i find this way of making heads amazing!!! i just need to know more!

Well, it's sort of a complicated thing to explain just in words, I honestly suggest watching a video to get the whole picture ^__^" For starters, always have a clear concept to follow while you're sculpting, and look up TONS of reference photos of the animal you're trying to make. As for the rest, I suggest the good ol' standby of a tutorial from Matrices www.matrices.net/foam.asp A lot of what I do is the same process, I just use elastic instead of foaming all around. For different styles, just experiment and look at other people's WIP examples until you find things you like And of course, this collection of tutorials/advice and such ought to help www.livejournal.com/tools/memo…

I am considering making some simple tutorials in the future, I'm just waiting for some free time to do so ^__^

Anytime ^__^ You would just shape the foam like in the tutorial, excluding the back of the head, then attach 2 strips of elastic going from the top to the middle of the head, and from side to side in the back. This keeps it firmly in place! Then fur/attach hood + parts as you want~
