Description
For many years now Microsoft Windows has been keeping users from accomplishing much, and if you read posts online, Microsoft has gotten to the point where most (if not all) users have problems even using their computer. Some of the problems are unfixed bugs that have been carried over from older versions of Windows (for some reason), but many problems are from updates which seem to do nothing except intentionally try to break your computer. You can try to stop Microsoft updates, but even if you stop automatic updates, they still secretly update in the background, some are "required" by Microsoft. Microsoft responses are usually something like "buy a whole new computer and new copy of Windows and maybe that might fix the problem somehow", which users will tell you it doesn't. After months of trying to contact Microsoft support, I only got one reply: "try wiping your whole hard drive and reinstall Windows if you have your serial key still and your DVD doesn't have a scratch on it", which doesn't work for me anyways since recent 2022 updates caused Windows to not recognize my serial key number. Even though I paid for my copy of Windows 10 and I registered and activated it, but the last major update of 2022 broke Windows further and now it insists my copy is "not Activated" and it does not recognize the serial key either so nothing can be done without paying for another copy of Windows. Now their March 2023 update (which I tried to stop and failed) has completely broken Windows, caused damage to my computer by overheating it and wearing out the hard-drive for no reason, and now all my work is being held hostage by Microsoft. Some other people's experiences with Microsoft are even worse.
I know that it is possible (but not always easy) to undo an update in Widows settings, but for this forced (and failed) update, Windows informed me that it failed and it will automatically try to update again, which will break my laptop again... Which is why I am finally looking into Linux, and maybe I'll still use one of my Win 7 laptops sometimes.
I also know Microsoft would say "buy a brand new, modern, high-end, expensive, over-powered lap top and Windows 10 will run fine." But I know from experience, the more resources you give Windows the more it takes, so big is never big enough. Besides, an Operating System shouldn't need most of your computers resources to run your computer. An OS is just a "front-end" and is just supposed to give you access to all the software, and run applications with minimal interference. With Windows, the OS has become the main focus, and all other software suffers.
