Lovely use of interpolation to make it look like a closed-circuit screen. I have to get more practice with perspective and backgrounds myself - so I'll just say that I'm impressed.
Minor nitpick: if the pipes at the top left are curving downwards and then up to the left, then similiarly, the cage-lamp on the right should have it's right side longer than it's left side, no? The reason why I say this is because it stands out - in a bug eyed perspective, all straight lines become warped and bent, but the lamp is still primarily straight lines and sticks out like a sore thumb... For that matter, the second arrow on the right (above the STOP) is a bit too large and out of proportion. But not very noticeably so. Minor niggles.
Love this pic. And thanks for the +watch!

Actually, taking a closer look, that arrow now looks like it's pointing - " Drive into that pillar!". I was suitably tickled. Compare to the lane on the left and the skid marks to see what I mean. n_n;

Question... do you do 3D animation? Or work for animation companies and stuff... I thought you said in the Tara Bonbon tut something about Atari but I can't remember. Because this is really goood.

ATARI. remember? there was time Atari was only company to ever make video games. "Pong" anyone? the are the creators of all video game and its industry!
they had their moments at 80 and from there it was slow decending down hill. now, it became just the identity though. sold to Shiney, and no tangible ATARI in exists.
yeah i used to work there. my job was nothing spectacular, and thats why im not working there. all i learned there was to make ugly texture uglier..er, and block the memories of myself actually doing that. making coin op into N64 game was swimming in hell's kitchen sink.

Ohhh, that's what they did. I read once at Penny Arcade that "someone didn't know what Atari is made me cry" or soemthign along the lines of that. I would be guilty of that, yes. BUt I'm not a big video games person anyway. I do however like PA. Rarely get the jokes, but still.

Someone called Ken Livingstone has created scene like this in central London, due to his congestion charges, you didn't sent a print of this about 2 years ago to assist his dream.
still I like it

er... i did sent it to him and he actually tried to curve the pillers.. that could be a big no no. chances are, building with warped pillers could only mean afew hours of life span. ^^

hey a question about the spidey 3-page.
well first, i think that's awesome. a much darker spidey world i think should be seen when they finally put out the third movie. (the venom one!) and of course, your fluid renditions of the characters transfers over to spidey as well; he's totally aerodynamic. okay. for question.
on the second page, the top two panels... which one comes first? because it seems as though it should be read right to left, but there is no other place on those pages that would support that as page three is fully vertical, and the first page only has the two inset panels of facial closeups (which really doesn't add anything to the flow)
so the question is, the simple, west or east style?

HOON In reply to titstroke [2003-10-15 21:29:50 +0000 UTC]
OH..... okay.. i was a bit confused by your question.... haha.
okay. initially not knowing exactly what your question is, i was gonna answer "hybrid" or " i like to eat"
but i realized you are talking about book binding orientation aren't you?
its what you called West style.
i mean, traditional book binding for US market. and i can assure you, when the bubbles, text goes in the places, it will be written from left to right. not top to bottom.
thanks my tit-loving sharp-criticizing artistic hommie.

cool. yeh i noticed upon further inspection afterwards, spidey's incredible swing off the bar avoiding venoms attack.
what threw me off was that in panel two, venom withdraws his spikes, so it looked as though he had not yet attacked. maybe spideys skillfull action was too important to be restricted to such small panels.
joe quesada is bomb. is it still cool to say that?

HOON In reply to titstroke [2003-10-16 01:37:49 +0000 UTC]
they say DA bomb. DA bomb. i dont know. it might be out dated but who cares.
Da bomb
what other spots of Skillful spidy action deserve a smal panel?
its dilemma after dilemma deciding what action sequence goes where. making comic is a bitch. and i love that bitch

yehman. it's a total struggle. so much has to go into it. well i mean, if you want an awesome comic. you COULD pull a liefeld. but i think everyone who knows comics should know better.
anyway man, you can totally do it. you've everything going for you.

arcggggh my blood presure going up again.. enough said. its damn shame who can give up such precious oppotunities with cheap tricks and gimmiks. and on top of that... steal shit from up coming artists. my revenge will be sweet. i can assure you.

i love it it reminded me about the art in a cowboy bebop soundtrack where the art was spike in a fish eye lens type point of view yours is more panoramic cinematic in a way due to the subject matter the subtle colors and the shadows Kudos to you!!!

amazing as usual. Just stellar perspective work. Out of curiosity, did you teach yourself how to do this or have you had some sort of instruction in art? If you haven't your some sort of not-human-amazing-artist-thing
PS. I'd love to join your growing harem

HA how did you know i am constructing a Harem Heaven haha.
well when it comes to perspective... i thought myself.. when it comes to anatomy, i try to take life drawing class at least once a year. (its bottomless bucket full of knowlege)
well, the furthest i got with perspective drawing instruction was at one of the conventions when i was kid.... an old comic artist... forgive me for not remembering his name.... (i believe his last name was Smiths) showed be tricks on how he does perspective. less then 10 minutes... it was shocking experience. after that.. i knew i can see the MATRIX behind everything. perpective and Vanishing point is everywhere you look.
