Description
alight... call it a shameless plug. but Kunkka's ad campaign piece : [link] struck me pretty hard, and i thought i might as well try something in similar setting.of course, this cutie (one your left) happens to be the mascot of IFS, i thought it will be only approperiate to have mascot of our own... but.... wait a second.. we dont... have one. then it hit me. we do! we have a project called ASHCAN, and one of the character in that story is HASHI HIME (chopstick princess) [link] and it felt so right to use her as our mascot. along with that purple.... thing.
so this is my rendition of IFS' IMAGINE ARTBOOK advertisement campaign! 4th piece of the series... of coursewith with a major MESSSY twist.

ahh bought the thinga few days ago, its a fantastically well balanced team. your works more impressive in print and i'm glad i got it. hope to see some more books by the studio.
anyway yeah this is the better of the advert. hmm i'm trying to come up with something intresting to say about it other than awesome or drool. mmm difficult.
ahhh so many legs. hmm its damn good. hmmm there isn't enough shade on the animals head under the breast and the mascots thurthest leg in the shade is at a slightly odd angle but its probably just me.
i really hate nick picking work, its fantastic i'll leave it at that.

Ok. Hate to sound the idiot. But, "never a stupid question," right? Anyhow. You're refering to a self-published work here, or rather, a work published under the design group you're a part of? Wait . . . What exactly is IF and MESS, what is there relationship, and what is their area of operation? Sorry for the dumb questions. I've just been wondering for awhile, and am a bit confused, even after having visited the sites . . .
Actually, I'm really fishing around here because I'll be looking for an "artist run" publisher, or at least, a "artist sympathetic" publisher, for the book, "art book," "graphic novelette," whatever you want to call it, that I'm currently designing, and working on.

No problem. IFS = Imaginary Friends Studios. MESSS = Mess Studios. As studios go, we work closely on some projects. The book is self- published by Imaginary Friends Studios and we invited Mess to contribute a section.
We self-published out of necessity and its our first and only project so I dont think we dare to even consider ourselves a bona-fide publisher. But you can email me at edmund@imaginaryfs.com and i'll be happy to help when i get back from San Diego. Thanks
shern

"Thanks," for the reply. When, and if, big "if," I ever get this book done. I'll remember to send you an E-mail . . . Actually, my so-called "project" aside, I'd like to get involved with a studio like yours, if there are any (future) openings. Though I suppose being in the USA might be a problem. You're not located in the USA, right? Urm. Where'd I get that idea from? I think you're not USA located . . .
I thought you were part of MESSS, though, yourself. But you're part of IFS?
Hope you have fun in San Diego! Visit the zoo!

yup, did the zoo thing and all yesterday. Am now in LA for the week before I return to Singapore where the studio is. Nah, we're not part of MESSS but the two studios work closely with each other and sometimes Hoon takes a dig at us by calling us Mess Singapore.

If you are in asia/australia, contact gerry@imaginaryfs.com with your non-credit card enquiry and we'll see what we can work out as far as alternative payment methods. Thanks
