second illustrations/ Graphic novel cover done for JUN project.the background space on left meant for wrap around cover.
this image is cropped for this presentation ^^
the center piece of this painting is most certainly Kingo, the thief boy holding up a holy calligraphy (부적, 符籍, a talisman or an amulet) to repel the creeping demon ninja. facial expression captured on the boy is what makes me enjoy what i do.

Excellent! Just one question, why do you part of it in painter and part in photoshop? why not finish it all in one platform? are certain results better in one than the other?

yes, in my humble opinion..
i am more familiar with Photoshop, so thats my preferred tool. but painter definitely offer better brush engine in my opinion.
typically i would sketch and layout, then rough-render the canvas using photohop, and then use Painter to render/blend details, touch up in color.
then i bring it back to photoshop to finalize and tune the image. also additional layer work, and texture works get done in photoshop. why not use best of what each applications can offer, right?
i also use Sketchbook pro for sketches.

Sure! It's just that, since I have very little contact with Painter, I thought it would be a photoshop but with even more options for brushing and textures. Basically I imagined that photoshop would be less "illustrational" software. But, yeah, if each one has it's advantages why not use both.

Great coloring and composition! The position of the lady over the boy is especially nice.
Reading other comments, I agree that it is quite hard to be able to tell that she's a woman. I think it also might be due to the way her hair is rough and a lot of the time girls' hair is a lot more softly drawn. I feel like there should be more of a balance between her being an Amazonian woman and just being a woman. It should be more obvious that she's a lady, even if that's what the filmmaker wants.
But otherwise, great work!

Oh my goodness that woman is hard core! I love the feeling of encroaching doom, all the darkness closing in around them. The woman is pretty demon-like too, maybe its just the adrenaline, haha. Great work, you've captured the scene very well.

i completely agree on masculinity of this female character, but important factors are that she is amazonian, white female, that makes presence as a giant. ^^
in artistic terms, i would personally prefer having more feminine, cuter girls as the heroine, but i came across "taste" difference in film maker and myself. not only preferences in beauty and girl in general, but also difference between eastern and western perception of beauty.
