Hello people.this one is from the archive 2003
this particular package was done for a part portfolio for San Diego comicon 2003, which included Spiderman: 5 Deadly second [link]
it was simple pencil sketces on sketch book on spare time with intention of translating some of the key players in Xmen universe, the way i feel comfortable. it does have strong manga/anime feel, but thats how i like it. not possible denying my roots. i know some of you might find the ANIME twist on these characters are not suitable for existing world of Xmen, but it was rather fun attempt to look at them differently, at least.
some of them were painted using PS, however most of them are as raw as it comes in my pencil and paper chemistry.----- mainly .5 mechanical pencils on bristol board.
all credit for characters and entities related to X men universe, belongs to MARVEL.

as i huge fan of the x-men i can safely say that i love these! gambit in particular. he look very smartly dressed as every good charmer should be.
i was also quite impressed with your take on beast but alas i am a huge fan of his current cat like appearance

Beast and Psylocke are wonderfully coloured. Are you planning to do the same with the other sketches? I would love to see Gambit couloured.

That's one of the best renditions of Beast I've ever seen. Man, it's been too long since I've read X-Men. I just realized I only know a little more than HALF of those characters! For it being my favorite comic as a kid...

Thats probably the most refined picture of beast I've seen since ultimate x-men.... your gonna send this ot the big wig fat cats whom are making x-men three right. cause I'd love to see that beast design on the big screen.

yay nick fury the way he is supposed to look instead of being a samuel l jackson rip off like he was in the ultimates. Only one I dont care for is your wolverine. Just doesnt hit me right. All the others look awesome.

okei i very much like your x-men redesigns Beast, Marrow, Rogue, and Fury. but what is with Storm in lingerie? come on she was considered a Goddess for part of her lifetime she has class. Except on those occasions when she gets her heart broken and as logan says "gives herself a stupid haircut". i'm just saying i think you should rethink that design a little bit

but x-men is the best, and you're a great digital artist, so together that makes some delicious artwork.

Your life drawing skills have come a long way, I see... you're a lot better with anatomy these days. I really like your take on Beast's hairstyle... or is that how he wears it now? I haven't read the comics in such a long time...
You know, I never considered it until I saw your take on her, but Marrow has the potential for some very interesting designs aspects, with her specialized bone structure.

nice work on the most part, however, i do have some quirky comments, like the height of some characters (Nick Fury) who looked dwarfed and well sloppy. Another was storm who basically got alot younger in your rendition. A mature storm is much better suited i think. Also with rogue, i rather love her as the cowgirl spunky chick she is in the original. Your rendition rather made her a teenage drama queen. Psylocke also kinda looked real vague and well sloppy as her head is a tip big compared to her body. Wolverine also lost some of his hairiness, he looked real clean and muscular. He doesn't look as rugged as he was and as tough as he looked before. The magneto concept was good, although your version still lacked abit of flair in him. He didn't look as regal as he was even if he was old. I mean i like the old magneto trust me, but your version made him abit sloppy. And i agree, your art with women does need abit of touching up to do. Well that's basically what i can say. ^_^

I really like the style, they're all quite thin, and more reasonable, rather than uber buff and stupid. WHat did Marvel think when you took it to the comic Con?
