Description
In case of any future commisions/collabs/whatever, I wanted to make a reference of Kimber and her tack.Anatomy
Kimber is on the smallish end for a Tyto, but makes up for it in bulk. Her weight causes her to use her wings as forelegs to get around much like a bat would. However, she is very agile and fast on the ground and her brute strength has shown when she's tackled enemies to the ground, hitting them like a train. Her beak is three pronged with a hook on either side behind the beak tip. She also has sharp rows of rearward angled teeth to latch on to prey. Her eyes are unusual as well, being more similar to a cats eyes than an owls. She's a pretty slow flier but is completely silent and still maneuvers well.
Tack
Kimbers saddle is called a "kneeling" type saddle. The saddle horn has the handle and the edges of the saddle keep the legs from sliding down onto the wings. Hannah sits on her legs and stands on her knees to shift weight for different maneuvers. The saddle blanket is not only flashy, but keeps Kimbers feathers smooth and provides cusion from Hannah's movements. The saddle is held in place by the collar and crupper, which wraps around the base of her tail to prevent the saddle from rising or sliding around. The crupper strap attaches to the saddle tree under the blanket and is hidden. The saddle can easily be removed via the straps that attach it to the collar. The saddle blankets are interchangeable and Hannah will switch them up every now and then, but this one is her favorite.

Hm...I'm taking notes of this. Good design.
Never thought of using cruppers. Seems way better than using girths that have to go through the tiny space between the scapulars and the secondaries. Could even hamper flight. Would not work on webbed leather wings.

Thanks! I seen a lot of Stryx tack with lots of straps and such so I wanted a saddle design that didn't impede the wings or breast during flight, but not be like a traditional saddle shape either so I came up with this
