Description
And a poem to go with it:CaCO3He seeks
seashells on the seashore
and offers them to me
as if spelling
words not quite formed.
But I needn't cup
shells to my ear
to hear them speak.
Several are fractured,
reminders of
our fragile past;
others have remained
whole,
like little talismans
of better days ahead.
Right now,
we're a work in progress,
a bean clam he found
growing, salt-spun,
into its armored chrysalis.
He releases it
to the surf
for a second chance,
then takes my hand,
moving only three steps
before pausing to collect
one last treasure--
a cluster of shells
fused with volcanic rock.
My Facebook friends gave enough positive feedback on this that I decided to post it. Basically the birds photobombed one sunrise photo without my knowing it, and my partner Jordan (CorbeauTombe ) photobombed the other.

This is a delightful image. I'd say nice things about it but the above description by hypermagical is on point.
