"No one would have believed that in the last years of the 19th century that human affairs where being watched from the timeless worlds of space"… but this image goes back even further, to the beginning of the 19th century. Keszthey at the western end of Lake Balaton turned into a vivacious cultural center under the lead of Earl George Festetics who established schools and helped agricultural researches, and extended the already pompous family castle with a new annex that homed the largest private library of the country with over 90,000 volumes of mostly scientific and literature books. This library is still remained, almost intact, and you're welcomed to visit its majestic halls and rooms, oaken and lime tree furniture, etc.

This image has almost nothing to do with Earl George Festetics and his Helicon library only with the building that houses it. You see the midsection of the castle with its tower that is a landmark not only for Keszthely but the region. It was about the first half of the Golden Hour when the setting sun casted long shadows of the charming park to the facades.
