Description
In a hidden neighborhood of Óbuda, right beside the Graphisoft Park, there is a magical, fairy tale-like quarter. It was built around the 1910s and it once was the Coal Gas Factory Housing Estate for the factory employees. There were some villas for the director and the management and less well equipped, but still highly comfortable (for the period) flats for common workers. The estate was closed from the public and guarded until the mid-2000s. The buildings bear the same style even though each one has its own different floor plan. Their style was a historicizing Hungarian folk style (that was inspired by the folk art but not derived from that).
I took this shot with my VDS 810 large format field camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach APO-Symmar S 240mm f/5.6 Compur 3 lens to Ilford HP5 400 4×5" film. Developed in D76 and scanned by me, too.
