Description
Yesterday I was not realy happy with my picture of alice-overdose in a cup....I like the CGI and the Compositing and Ophelia is a beautifull Alice
But the picture was lifeless ( not strong...)
I believe I worked for the 3D and compositing and lost the final picture
I think about it and make a new Version with a better perspective, remake the cup and a better pose...
Do you like this version more ?
What can do to get a better picture ?
Rendering in MAYA 2010 ( with MR and fluids )
For everyone who missed the reflections in the water, see my reflections-test: [link]

Like this one better, it's more interesting and you get a better sense of the sea of tears.

Love the texture of the water and I think it's just the right amount of reflection happening for coarse waves like this.
Definetely like this one more then the other.
love her expression and pose in this one and it's a better angle I think.

The only thing I can think of to improve this would be to add some subtle blue reflection on to Ophelia because at the moment she seems quite out of the picture because the light you used to photograph her was white and if she was in the ocean there would be slight blue reflections on her skin ^^ Very cute though, as always

A very nice piece as usual. The water looks too thick to me though, shouldn't there be little crests and a touch of spray as those waves bounce into each other? Not too much but it would make it more 'watery'.
gary

i think if you actually set the cup further down into the water (because the girl is heavy) and make sure to study things that are set in water...how do they look? how much of that object can you see under the water from above?
also the arm position looks forced, play with it until it looks natural to the situation...
anyways i think these things could help it look more "real" hope it helps!

Love your work, as usual!
Just one thing: it could use a reflection on the water, don't you think?

There is an reflection. You see a little bit of the cup in the water...
The water isn't plane. So you see not so much of the reflection.

the water could be a bit more subtle, cause it loks plastic at the moment and reflection from alice is absent in the water
but overall, this is great
